D.C. Express Celebrates 30 Years

Several USATF Board Members were in attendance at the 30th Anniversary Celebration and 2014 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony of the D.C. Express Track Club on September 27, 2014. President Inez Finch, Executive President Ian Dube, Vice President of Communications Marlene Atwood, and several Georgia members were there to celebrate the contributions of this long standing youth club.

A highlight of the evening was the induction of Olympian Dwight Phillips, Administrator Wendy Collins, and Club Founder and Head Coach Ron Williams into the D.C. Express Class of 2014. The Georgia Association congratulates Ron Williams, Wendy Collins, Dwight Phillips and the entire D.C. Express Track Club for all of their many contributions to our sport and our athletes

Olympic Hopeful Kristin Smith Featured in Film Production

Atlanta, GA - Kristin Smith, Marietta, GA native, NCAA All American, and University of Kentucky Graduate, was recently commissioned for a cinematic production by Atlanta based Blue Marble Media and its corporate client.   Kristin was one of three elite athletes selected for this short feature film that was shot on location at Pullman Rail Yard, a popular site for big budget movie productions in the Atlanta area. Kristin, who began her throwing career with the Marietta based Throw 1 Deep Club, trains full time as an elite athlete at the Chula Vista Training Center in California.


Self Defense Class for Runners and Walkers
 
Life Time Run/Walk Club presents a free seminar on Self Defense Class for Runners & Race Walkers. As USATF members, we are training at various days and times, there will be moments when we must train alone.

 
If you enjoy the beauty of outdoor running or race walking in our fall weather, it's always good to know essential self defense strategies, knowledge is power. Learn the running/walking tools on keeping you safe while training outdoors.

 
This free seminar will be held on Tuesday, October 14, in the Education Center of Life Time Athletic. (5580 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, GA30342). We will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., which should last about an hour. It will be presented by Strike First Fitness Master Instructor Troy Logan, his motto, "Live Fearless! Live Fit!"
