USATF Level 1 Coaching School Receives Accolades
A USATF Level 1 was held July 11 - 13, 2014 at Mount Pisgah School in Johns Creek, GA.   Nick Morgan of Mount Pisgah School writes:

"
This past weekend Mount Pisgah Christian School hosted the USATF Level 1 coaching clinic beginning on Friday and concluding Sunday afternoon.  There were a total of 21 hours of classroom learning and 36 Professional athletes, coaches, and running enthusiasts attending.  Three USATF certified coaches led the way by facilitating the seminars and discussions: Ian Dube, Executive President of the USATF Georgia Association; Ronda Broome, USATF Certified Level I and II Coach (Throws Extraordinaire); and Ryan Bailey; Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Mercer University.  Also, a special thanks to Loren Seagrave for being a wonderful point person.

First, one great take away given to us from Coach Bailey was, "Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible; and suddenly, you are doing the impossible." (St. Francis of Assisi) and another solid quote from Coach Dube, "PUSH!"

The USATF Level 1 coaching clinic was a great experience full of new friendships, sound coaching wisdom, and lasting memories.  Coach's Eye and Kinovea are two incredible video analysis websites noted for technological improvements regarding an athlete's biomechanics, techniques, and coach's improved training.  We learned it is vital to know and remember the difference between training age versus chronological age.  What made the weekend extra special for me as an aging endurance athlete was conversing with current and graduated college athletes as well as current Olympians.  Hearing their personal narratives of what it takes to train and persevere at the next levels was inspiring; thank for demonstrating your various events for us.  As a high school coach dedicated to motivating student-athletes, I love that we ALL were on board supporting the next generation to give all they have, to reach their full potential, and learn how to be the best sprinter, hurdler, jumper, thrower, or distance runner.  The USATF Level 1 coaching clinic gave us the general knowledge and spring board to continue learning how to be great coaches."
