USATF Georgia Officials Certification Clinic Today - 4/6/14
The USATF Georgia Association Officials Committee will be holding its final Officials Certification Clinic of the Spring tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, April 6th at Emory University from 1:00 to 5:00PM. 

Please let Officials Certification Chair Bob Brier know by e-mail at rockyb111wso@bellsouth.net or phone (678-231-5067) that you're planning to attend so that he can plan accordingly (forms, seating, etc.).  You must have a current (2014) USATF membership in order to get certified (usatf.org). Complete information at USATFGA Calendar

USATF Georgia Officials Events Clinic - 4/13/14 
The USATF Georgia Westlake High Jump 060112 Officials Committee announces an Events Clinic on Sunday, April 13th at Emory University, from 1:00 - 5:00PM.  Details can be found on the Georgia Association website (usatfga.org) at both the Calendar and Officials pages. 

The clinic will address Pole Vault, Horizontal Jumps, and Shot Put and will consist of both an indoor classroom presentation and an outdoor 'hands-on' session.

Lee Haney's Ultimate Fitness Challenge

Gwen Loud-Johnson, USATFGA T&F Chair invites all USATF members to come Lee Haney out to Lee Haney's Ultimate Fitness Challenge on April 19, 2014 at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, GA.  Lee Haney's Sports & Fitness Challenge is a family event and competition held to promote awareness and the importance of exercise. YOUTH, TEENS, and ADULTS are invited to participate Fit Kid Challenge * Teen Challenge * Ultimate Fitness Challenge.


There are physical obstacles and challenges to test your resilience, strength, stamina, quick decision making skills, and ability to laugh in the face of adversity. In other words, your fitness level will be tested to the fullest. Calling ALL Coaches, Couch Potatoes, Elite Athletes, Weekend Warriors, Teens, Strong Men/Women and people who just LOVE a challenge!

About Lee Haney - Mr. Haney has won 8 consecutive "Mr. Olympia" titles and is Chairman of the President's Council of Physical Fitness & Sports.

USATF Georgia Congratulates Participants in 2014 USATF Area Youth Olympic Selections Trials

Miramar, FL - April 4 - 5, 2014

 
The U.S. Olympic Committee has awarded USATF with 14 Youth Olympic Games athlete nomination slots, allocated specifically to U.S. athletes placing highest in their events.

T
here will be a total of three Americas Team Area Youth Olympic Trials - Track & Field events, featuring the first at Miramar in the U.S., one in the Caribbean and another in South America. U.S. Athletes may only compete in the U.S. event as nominations for the Americas Youth Olympic Team are determined following the third and final trials event.

 
Athletes at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games will compete in 28 sports while also taking part in a Culture and Education program. At the inaugural Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, Team USA collected eight medals: three gold, two silver and three bronze.
