USATF Georgia Starters' Clinic

USATF Georgia is hosting a clinic for USATF members interested in learning the rules and mechanics of "Starting", as follows:

Time: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The clinic will consist of a classroom review of the rules followed by practical instruction on the track. To attend, you must be a current USATF member. Memberships are available - CLICK HERE. Bring paper and a writing instrument, and dress appropriately for the outdoor portion. (Be sure to check the clinic schedule at usatfga.org for 2014 certification clinics as you will not be permitted to officiate as a starter without officials' certification.)

Lt. Governor's Healthy Kids Event

March 8, 2014, 8:30 -12:30 p.m.
Atlanta Capitol, Atlanta, GA 

 
Join Lt. Governor Casey Cagle, Olympians and special guests for the 4th Annual Be Healthy Georgia Festival & Family Fun Run. This FREE family day at the Capitol kicks off with Atlanta Track Club's One Mile Fun Run and Kilometer Kids Dash followed by more fun and games with Georgia's pro sports teams, mascots and much more!

Group Incentives 
Incentives are being offered for the groups that turn out the most numbers to participate. The school or group with the most participants pre-registered for the event will win a special team award and party, compliments of the Atlanta Track Club.

Additionally, Healthy Kids Georgia in conjunction with Arby's Foundation will reward three organizations that turn out the most pre-registered children participants with a scholarship to go towards their health & wellness programming. **1st Place - $1,500 / 2nd Place - $1,000 / 3rd Place - $750.

"How to Manage the Development of Competitive Track & Field Participants
(Featuring Ron Henderson, Runners Training Source, Development Consultant)

This workshop will focus on how to design and manage a program that will accomplish the individual development of competitive participation. The workshop will build on to the Level One and Level Two USATF Coaching training programs as a management tool.

The youth track and field club programs play an important role in the future of track and field at all levels. The youth club coaches have the responsibility to start a development process that will produce the next competitive participants. We encourage all the youth club coaches to attend this very informative workshop.

Publix Georgia Marathon - Volunteers Needed
Sunday, March 23, 2014 
(North Ave./Freedom Pkwy) Atlanta, GA

March 23, 2013 will mark the 8th anniversary of the Publix Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon. It will also be the 4th year that USATF GA members have volunteered at a water station at mile 7 on the Publix Marathon course. We need 45 - 50 volunteers. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Job Description: Prepare and distribute water & Powerade to participants during the race. Set up and clean up station. Cheer for participants.
