USATF inducted five deserving individuals at last Saturday night's Awards & Induction Hall of Fame Ceremony. USATF Georgia was in attendance  and enjoyed an evening filled with celebrity and inspiring acceptance speeches.

No one is more appreciative than Georgia to hear others credit contributions from our Georgia athletes, coaches, officials and administrators.

John Godina, two-time Gold Olympic Medalist in the Shot Put and 2013 Inductee, acknowledged contributions to the sport by Adam Nelson and Reese Hoffa - two great Georgia Olympic shot putters.

Kenny Harrison, triple jumper, earned gold in Atlanta in 1996.   His record of 18.09/59-4.25 stands after 17 years.  Yes, here in Atlanta!

Steve Williams set world records at 100m and was considered one of the fastest sprinters of his time.  He credited our own 1968 Gold Medalist Mel Pender for paving the way for others.

Eleanor Montgomery, two-time Olympian, was our High Jump inductee. She was a Tigerbelle from Tennessee State.  She became the 9th Tigerbelle to be inducted.

Bob Larson, UCLA Head Coach (and Olympian Meb Keflezighi's running coach), was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a Coach/Contributor.  He acknowledged the contributions of Dr. Dave Martin, our own Georgia resident science researcher, educator, statistician, journalist, historian, and coach, for his contributions to Olympic Marathon training.
