The Georgia Association welcomes Inez Finch as the first woman president of this association. President Finch has served this association in many capacities - Youth Chair, Club Registration Chair and Executive Vice President.  On the national level, she sits on the Youth Division Executive Committee and is the Youth Zonal Representative for the South Zone.  Welcome!
 
We wish to thank Former President Ian Dube for his service during his two terms as president of the association. His administration was instrumental in improving communications to our members, instituting Coaches Round Tables, organizing the Georgia Hall of Fame program, establishing the annual President's Awards - among other accomplishments.  He continues to serve the association in his new capacity as Executive Vice President.

LDR/Masters Committees Announce Grand Prix Winners
   

The final race in the USATF Masters/LDR Distance Grand Prix took place on October 26, 2013 at the Red Carpet Half Marathon in Dalton, GA.  Runners were treated to a rolling course and a little frost on the pumpkin!

Congratulations go out to our overall 2013 Grand Prix winners!  We look forward to planning our next Grand Prix Series!

News About Our Members
Condolences go out to the family of Coach Bernard Smith, who passed on October 25, 2013.  Coach Smith was a long time coach of the Georgia Heat in Macon, GA.  He coached his daughter Stephanie Smith who held a National record in the 400 meters and made the World Youth Team.
