Each year at the New Balance Indoor Nationals, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF) honors an outstanding individual for their contributions to the sport.

This year, Coach Mike Judge was selected to receive the "Mike Byrnes Coach of the Year Award".
An excerpt from the formal press release reads: "Mike teaches his athletes "how to win with pride, lose with grace, and compete and train with intensity!" He has had unparalleled coaching success - in the past 13 years, he has coached 181 high school All-Americans, 21 national champions, and 26 national runners-up. His athletes also have set 3 national high school records. Mike's primary goal is to get college scholarships for as many of his high school student-athletes as possible each year. He has been extremely successful by this measure also, with 106 of his Throw 1Deep athletes earning collegiate athletic scholarships, including all 10 of his seniors this past year!!"
