Snow Greets Delegates at Annual Meeting
Indianapolis, IN - December 4 - 8, 2013
16 Delegates from the Georgia Association joined 56 other associations in Indianapolis for USATF's annual meeting this week.

The annual meeting started Monday with a youth workshop and a coaches podium education session, and continues through the weekend with workshops for officials, coaches, all the sports disciplines - LDR, Masters, Racewalk, Youth, Track & Field, associatoins, law and legislation, rules,  high performance division, etc.. Snow did not dampen participants enthusiasum - it was business as usual.  Indianapolis knows how to handle snow and roads were clear in no time.  The weather though - in the twenties, was just a bit frigid for runners who wanted to get a few miles in between sessions.

The Opening Session on Thursday brought everyone together to review highlights of the past year, honor deserving individuals, and remember those who had passed.

President Stephanie Hightower presented (8) Presidents Awards.  See the full list Here.   Of note were guest appearances by VP of Running, T&F Marketing for Nike - John Capriotti who spoke of the strenghtened relationship between USATF and Nike. President of NBC Marketing John Diamond promised more USATF coverage on NBC and a greater committment to the sport.  Athletes Jackie Joyer Kersee, Dan O'Brien and Sanya Richard-Ross also spoke of their confidence in CEO Max Seigel.

The USATF Georgia Delegation returns to Georgia on Monday eager to share important information from these sessions with all association members.
