USATF Georgia Sanction Update - 3/27/13
Dear Georgia Event Directors,

This update serves to advise you of upcoming changes to the USATF Sanction Process.

We are always pleased every year to advise you that Georgia Association Sanction Fees have remained constant for many years with no increases for 2013.  This is due to the due diligence on your part in conducting safe events in accordance with USATF guidelines with minimal incidents reported.  We thank you for that!

New for 2013:
  • Sanctions are going online!  We are currently in UAT - testing the new online sanction tool and will be rolling it out in the near future to all event directors.
  • You will be able to enter your events to our national calendar.  You will be able to apply for a sanction, request insurance certificates and pay for your sanction in one online process.  No more mailing sanction applications to me.  I will still be reviewing them and approving them.  The advantages are that you will save on postage, the process will be quicker and you can use a credit card - no more checks (unless this is part of your process).
  • Exceptions to the online process are association championships, developmental meets, etc.  You would have to submit these the old way  - via mail.  If you are more comfortable with a paper sanction, that is okay too.

Some changes:

  • The online process requires that a legal member organization apply for a sanction - you can no longer apply for a sanction as an individual member.
  • If you check that you are a member organization, it will do a look up to find your member organization number. Once that member organization number is entered, it will default to member fees.
  • If you check that you are not a member, it will default to non member fees.
  • If you wait until the last minute to file a sanction, your online process will include rush fees - one rush fee per certificate five days out, a larger rush fee per certificate within 3 days.  Don't procrastinate.  Liability Insurance should be at the top of your list as an event director.
  • Another item - to renew your club or member organization membership, at least one individual must be a member to renew.

I will keep you posted on the "go live date".  We are wrapping up testing.  If you have any questions prior to that, please feel free to contact me.
