Women's History Month is a worldwide annual celebration that highlights women's contributions to events in history and contemporary society. In the United States. Women's History Month traces its beginnings back to the first International Women's Day in 1911. In 1987, Congress expanded it to a whole month.
In celebration of Women's History Month, the USATF Georgia Coaches Advisory Committee is presenting a Coaches Roundtable featuring one of USATF's standout women. Read on for more information.
We encourage our members to nominate deserving women who should be recognized for their contributions within the Association, in the community and in our sport. Please submit your nominations to secretary@usatfga.org before the end of March.

Sue Humphreys has served on three USA Track & Field Olympic staffs - 1992, 1996 and Head Women's Coach in 2004. She was Head USA Pan Am Games Coach, and USA World Cup Coach. As NIKE Coach of the Year in 1998, she was the only female coach to win this honor. Humphreys has coached over 225 AIAW/NCAA All-Americans in her career. She has served as USA Track & Field Women's Development Chairman. Currently National Women's Chairman for USA Track & Field and Vice President of the South Texas Association of USA Track & Field. - Harris PatelPA-C ATC, Harris has been a USATF/USOC ATC for 3 World Championship Teams, the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics, and many other USATF National Teams.
- Terrence Trammell made his first Olympic team in 2000 as a 21-year-old, running to a silver medal. Ten years later he set the American record in the indoor 60m hurdles in winning silver at the World Indoor Championships and continues to compete at an elite level. He has won a total of nine Olympic or World Championships medals.
