Updated Accreditation Standards for Associations
The Georgia Association, along with 56 other associations across the country, must meet certain standards on an annual basis to maintain their accreditation as a member organization of USATF.

For many years, Associations were held to meeting 10 required standards plus 6 of 9 "other" standards.  Required standards included such items as minumums for so many USATF members per 100,000 of population, so many officials, publishing financial reports, fiscal solvency, etc. Other standards included newsletters, website, coaching education, championships, etc. Not meeting these standards resulted in an association not being in good standing and potentially losing their voting rights.

Linda and Allyson Felix 2012 An Accreditation Standards Taskforce was formed several months ago to review the standards and update them based on today's information.  Georgia Membership Chair Linda Bommicino was part of that taskforce. She and a small committee met weekly for several months to drive out requirements. An updated, streamlined set of standards resulted.

For her work on the taskforce, Linda Bommicino was presented with an award acknowledging her efforts on this taskforce.  Linda serves as the Secretary of the Associations Executive Committee, and was re-elected to that position at the annual meeting.
