USATF Georgia Observes Armed Services Month

 

The USATF Georgia Association is celebrating November as Armed Services   Month in Georgia.  We would like to honor and recognize the many individuals that have served this great nation through the military. 
 
Please take the time to nominate yourself or another member as part of this month long recognition.  We ask each individual to submit a picture and a brief bio of himself/herself or a person that has served in the Army, Air Force Navy, Marines, Reserves, Merchant Marines, and Coast Guard.
 
Please send a short bio and picture to secretary@usatfga.org.  Remember to submt nominations for recognition before the end of November.

 
USATF Georgia Partners with Road Runner Sports In Store Consultants in Buckhead and Marietta

As a service to our members, USATF Georgia has partnered with Road Runner Sports In Store Experts Kristi Elwart and Matthew Deininger to be personal consultants to our athletes and assist them with expert advise on shoes, apparel, and other accessories necessary to help them perform at their best. 

 

Get to know them!  Visit them in Buckhead and Marietta!

 

RR Sports_Kristi 2012 Kristi Elwart works on the Grassroots Marketing Team at Road Runner Sports Atlanta. She has been passionate about running since the age of 13 and has completed 8 marathons, including 2 Boston Marathon finishes! She has run several half marathons, 10K's, and 5K's, but the marathon is her favorite event. Kristi is a Girls on the Run Coach at Timber Ridge Elementary in East Cobb and enjoys sharing her love of running and competition with young kids. She is a graduate of Michigan State University and currently resides in Marietta. 

 

 

 

Matthew Deininger was born and raised in Altanta. He graduated fromRR Sports Matthew 2012  Georgia State University in 2009 with a degree in Business Marketing. He loves anything that is active and takes place outdoors; especially rafting out in Idaho where his parents own a ranch. Growing up, he had a passion for law enforcement and plans to one day pursue a career in public service. He loves going on mission trips and leading a small group of sophomore boys at Buckhead Church.  Matthew  is currently going through the AthleanX training program and hopes to run a half marathon next spring!

Dr. R. Amadeus Mason is an assistant professor in the Orthopaedics and Family Medicine departments at Emory University. USATF Membership Renewals for 2013:

If you are an Association Officer or Committee Chair, please ensure that you and all of your committee members renew your USATF memberships for 2013. You must be a USATF member to hold office.

 

In addition, Officials must have their membership renewed before recertification can take place. Please take the time right now to renew for 2013.

Looking for a Few Volunteers!

USATF Georgia Association Secretary Marlene Atwood serves as a Crew Chief for the Atlanta Half Marathon on Thanksgiving Day.  Atwood manages a group of volunteers at Peachtree and Mitchell - Mile 12 on the Atlanta Half Marathon course.  The Atlanta Track Club still needs volunteers for this area as well as other areas along the course. If you are interested, please contact secretary@usatfga.org for more information.
