 The National Sleep Foundation has developed two new websites, each dedicated to a specific sleep disorder. The first website is for those struggling with shift work disorder, and the second for those with insomnia. Shift work sleep disorder is a disorder of a person's circadian rhythm, the biological clock our bodies use to keep us awake during the day and allow us to sleep at night. When a person regularly works outside of the traditional 9-5 workday schedule, the night shift for example, problems with sleep can occur. For more information about shift work disorder for yourself or someone you would like to help, visit http://sleepfoundation.org/shift-work. Insomnia is a problem that effects all of us at one time or another. However, if you have had trouble falling asleep and/or staying asleep 3 nights or more over a period of 3 months, you may suffer from chronic insomnia. | CPAP Improves Control of Diabetes 
A five-year study conducted in the UK shows that use of CPAP long-term improves blood pressure and blood glucose levels in patients with obstructive sleep apnea and Type 2 diabetes. According to the study, use of CPAP also improved patients' overall quality of life at a cost that is acceptable to the National Health Service.

CPAP Donations
|  Do you have a CPAP or BiPAP machine you are not using? Or do you know someone who needs help obtaining a machine for themselves?
The American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) accepts gently used machines and un-opened CPAP masks to their CPAP Assistance Program, in order to provide free equipment to those who cannot afford therapy.
