Dry Eyes
If you are not getting a good seal with your CPAP mask, you might be experiencing dry eyes. Not only are dry eyes uncomfortable or painful, air blowing into your eyes on a regular basis can cause more serious eye damage over time.
There are a few solutions that we can share to help you with this problem:
- Perhaps the most obvious solution is to find a new mask! It may be as simple as replacing a worn cushion to correct the leak. However, if that doesn't work, a new style may be in order--a mask that better fits the contours of your face.
- If unable to find the perfect mask, try adding a gel pad or specially designed cloth liner to your mask to fill in the gaps where leaks may occur.
- See an eye doctor to rule out any other causes of eye dryness.
- Wear a thin eye mask to protect your eyes from any air that escapes from your CPAP mask.
If you have any questions or concerns about your CPAP equipment and your eye health, please call us at 877-392-7270 for assistance.
