A Very Special Summer Student Edition
We Bid Farewell to Summer Students Avery and Stephanie

This summer Avery and Stephanie have been an invaluable part of all of the Children's Discovery Museum's programming, from leading Discovery Group Visits to developing and hosting a day of summer camp festivities. You may have seen them out and about visiting Saskatoon parks with the Timber Stackers, or at Sum Theatre leading pint-sized audience members in a bull hat craft!

All of us here at the Children's Discovery Museum wish Avery and Stephanie all the best. As summer comes to a close, so does their Summer Student position, but don't worry! This will not be the last you see of them, as they have both assured us they will be volunteering with us in the future.

Thank you Avery and Stephanie!
A Successful Summer in the City of Saskatoon Parks

Throughout the summer we have been working with the City of Saskatoon to provide outreach programming at parks in various neighbourhoods across Saskatoon. Avery and Stephanie visited 21 parks total with the incredibly popular Timber Stackers!

The children at each park we visited used their logic and creativity to build some unique and impressive structures, including houses, towers, chairs, cars, animals, and more!

The Timber Stackers are still available for play at the Children's Discovery Museum in our Construction Corner.

Thanks for a super fun summer, Saskatoon kidlets!

The Children's Discovery Museum will once again be participating in Culture Days! Watch for more exciting details about our event!

Did you know
Umbrellas were originally invented 4,000 years ago to provide shade from the sun. The first umbrella shop opened in 1830 in Oxford, England. It was called "James Smith and Sons" and still exists today!
