The Children's Discovery Museum is open to the public at no charge from noon until 4:00 pm, courtesy of the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon.

Kinsmen Day is the 4th Sunday of each month.

The museum will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays through the end of May to accommodate school groups.

Upcoming in March - Mini-Makers Innovation and Creation
Concept Alternatives - "New" Museum

On February 3 & 4 the Children's Discovery Museum, with Argyle Design presented three concept alternatives for the "new" museum. The expanded Children's Museum is scheduled to open in the Mendel Building in 2017.
 
A public Open House and Community sessions were conducted over the two days, resulting in fruitful conversations for developing a top-tier destination that is welcoming to all children.

Concept Alternative #3 - Gatherings / Storytelling

Engineering for Kids

We are so excited that Engineering for Kids is coming back to the museum to participate in our March theme of "Mini-Makers - Innovation and Creation".
 
Engineering for Kids will be offering 3 sessions for kids aged 4-6 to get their hands on some fun and creative Engineering.
 
Sunday, March 8Juniors (ages 4-6) 
11:00am or 4:00pm
Friday, March 13 - Juniors (ages 4-6)  6:00pm
Friday, March 20 - Juniors (ages 4-6)  6:00pm
 
All sessions will be at the museum and registration includes one complementary museum pass.

Kids on the Block

Don't forget there will still be 2 additional puppet shows in February - from Kids on the Block, teaching about disabilities and how it is okay to be different. 

These shows are longer than normal as kids will have a chance to meet the puppets, ask questions and learn what it might be like to have a disability. 

Shows are free with daily admission.

Look to the Sky -  April is Astronomy Month 

Watch for details on our Facebook page and the March 
e-news about some fun and exciting Astronomy related programming and a special workshop on Sunday, April 26 to celebrate Astronomy week.

Colours Program
Did you know - UNESCO (United Nations Educational, 
Scientific and Cultural Organization) has declared 2015 the International Year of Light - and aims to educate on the importance of light in the environment, culture and science - how cool! 

We use light all the time at the museum - with the x-ray table, in our Colours of the Rainbow program and so much more!
