Something about yourself:

My Wife Debbie & I spent 3 weeks in Europe this summer visiting many Countries including: Hungary, Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, Serbia, and Croatia.  My favorite book is 'Harold & The Purple Crayon'. My favorite food is Sweet Potato. I love to exercise, but I also enjoy music & art as well. We have two dogs named Clover & Sally.  This summer I celebrated my 50th birthday. Recently, I broke my basketball foul-shooting record by scoring 48 consecutive free-throws. After missing my 49th shot, I went on to make 62 out of 63 free-throws. I love it when children wear their tennis shoes on PE day. If you need to contact me for any reason, my email is:  [email protected]

If interested in participating, please complete the following form.  This must be completed by every student wishing to participate.
PINCHBECK CARNIVAL
Please join us for the Pinchbeck Carnival on Saturday, October 26th, from 11am to 3pm, at Pinchbeck.  There will be games, inflatables, a pumpkin patch and much more.  Admission is only charged for kids who wish to play games.  This year the school-wide class art project, "The Carnival Mosaic Project", will have a live auction at 1pm.  Don't miss it!  There is no charge for adults; however, food and pumpkins will be for sale.  Orders forms will be sent home in your child's backpack, or click  this link.  Hope to see you there pumpkin hunting and celebrating!
CARNIVAL VOLUNTEERS...WE NEED YOU!

Pinchbeck Fall Carnival is the PTA's largest event of the year.   It takes more than 275 volunteers to make this event a success. We are asking each Pinchbeck family to be a part of the volunteer team for at least an hour. Middle and high school siblings, as well as friends of Pinchbeck, are also welcome to volunteer (this is a great way to obtain community service hours). Volunteers are needed 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for set-up, station and game hosts, and clean-up. For Volunteer sign-up, please visit: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0C49A4AB2FABFC1-pinchbecks/1917746

BEAUTIFYING PINCHBECK - THANK YOU

Thank you to the volunteers and donations to help Beautify Pinchbeck!  We collected many bulbs, some flowering plants, day lilies, and a variety of grasses.  Carolyn's Gardens donated three butterfly bushes, which are planted on the bus loop.  Mulch King donated three yards of a soil/compost mixture, which will help give our plants a better growing environment.  Many thanks to the teachers and parent and student volunteers which were on hand during the Saturday morning planting; Ms. Modrak, Mrs. Hardymon, Mrs. Donovan and family, Mr. Carlson, Mrs. Fox, Mr. and Mrs. Maiden with their sons, Mr. Geiger, Alice G., Ava K., and Mrs. Mulvaney and Dorothy.  Be sure to check out the SCA website for before and after pictures http://blogs.henrico.k12.va.us/pinchbecksca.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION BUILDS HEALTHY BODIES
There are many health benefits of hula-hooping.
Check out this site: http://www.hooping.org/2012/03/getting-our-children-hula-hooping/
In the last issue of the Pinchbeck PTA News, I reported the results of the 3rd Grade Hula-Hooping Challenge for Mrs. Damron's class and Mrs. Gonzalez' class. Below are the results from the other 3rd grade classes.

The winners of the hula-hoop challenge from Mrs. Long's class are:
BOYS:
Cirece Edwards
GIRLS:
Raquelle Wells
Dakota Pecket
Whitney Kunda
Julianna Keller

The winners of the hula-hoop challenge from Mrs. Dub's class are:
BOYS:
Jaedin Harris
GIRLS:
Lexy Bostian
Maria Sotos
Nyla Addotey

The winners of the hula-hoop challenge from Mrs. Ferguson's class are:
BOYS:
Dylan Redfearn
GIRLS:
Austin Waxenfelter
Amanda Gayed
Tania Gamez
Lesli Bonilla
Mina Selimovic

How we did the contest:
All of the students were given one minute to practice. After the practice period, on the word "go", all of the students began to hula hoop. If a student's hoop touched the floor, the student had to sit down inside the circle of the hoop until we had a winner. All students who were still hula-hooping after 90 seconds were declared the  winners.
