Solar-thermal market continues to shrink
At least in Europe. Here are the numbers. As usual, this is what we see when government subsidies for solar-thermal systems dry up.

Another campus moves away from coal
This time it's Missouri University of Science and Technology and they're replacing the coal with geothermal. They're burying more than 100 miles of tubing for this job. Check it out here.

Another tiny house
Or perhaps a motorhome? Not sure where to draw the line with this one. Thanks to Erin for finding it for us. I love the comment near the end about how Millennials don't want to be tied down. I know plenty of them that are still living in Mom's basement.

One seriously good steam book
My old friend, Jake Myron, has written the best book on steam heating for large buildings that I have ever seen. As I read, I could hear his voice and thought back to the many New York City buildings we prowled together as we honed our skills in the lost art of steam heating. He was then, and remains today, better than I'll ever be. If you want to understand, troubleshoot and solve steam-heating problems in big buildings, get this book.

Got some heating ideas?
To go along with these great ideas? Isn't it amazing what bit of creativity can do to an old shipping container?

What if?
That's the question they ask in this video from MIT (of course!) Media Lab. A tiny apartment expands and contracts in response to arm waves and hand gestures. My question is: What if you come home drunk?

Nothing to do with heating
But I could go into this site and get lost for a very long time. I seriously have no life.
