Something new (sort of) in solar

solar We've seen this technology on a massive scale out in the desert, but not up on the roof. Better aim this one carefully. And those ants better watch out.

Russian gas
gas pipeline Check out this article from Reuters. This conflict has the power to change so many things in the world. We sure are living in interesting times, aren't we?
LEED loophole

This one made me smile. Where's Jeff Spicoli when we need him most?

Don't count out fuel oil just yet
chart Thanks to Robert O'Brien for sharing the article about how fuel oil saved New England this past winter. Are you surprised?
And another prospective
fuel oil delivery Also about fuel oil's future, but more from the homeowner perspective. As the article mentions, the growth of gas is limited by infrastructure. I think oil will be with us for a while yet.
More-affordable geo?
geothermal Good article here from Jay Egg. I got to spend some time with Jay last summer when we visited Serenbe, a Utopian sort of village outside of Atlanta, Georgia that runs completely on geo. And when it comes to things geo, I just stand over there in the corner and hold Jay's coat.

As summer approaches...
woodburner So does winter in New Zealand, which gives me great pleasure because I grow tired listening to those folks talk about their gorgeous January weather while I'm shivering. Here are some good insights into how they try to keep warm in a country not known for well-insulated buildings and great heating systems.
Hug your kids.
