Will NYC go geo?
 In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, some in New York City are considering geothermal instead of going back to what was there before. That's what I learned from this story. I had dinner with Jack DiEnna a few weeks ago and he said that this was going to happen for sure. Jack is the Executive Director of the Geothermal National & International Initiative. Stay tuned.

This article is about the challenges the utilities face as folks go for more-efficient equipment. Note how the utilities are planning to get into new businesses, some of which might offer challenges to the trade. Meanwhile in the U.S., when people get more efficient the utilities just raise the rates. Such a business model!

ROI?
Here's a good story about return on investment when it comes to heating equipment. Much depends on how one views the world, and how the salesperson approaches you. A buddy just bought a new Mercedes. I asked him what the return on investment was. He looked at me like I was stupid. I'll bet he asks that question when his boiler dies, though. People are funny that way.
