Beer koozies and comfort
I know, I know, it may not seem to have anything to do with heating, cooling and human comfort, but bear with me a minute and read this story. I'll bet you make the connection because you're so smart. Hey, I'll drink to that!

And TAB?
Who still drinks that stuff? Apparently, these kids, and they have a (quite nerdy) lesson to teach, which ties nicely back to latent heat and the beer koozies. I really do need to get a life. Thanks to Robert O'Brien for digging up this one.

The Maine difference
Wood-pellet boilers are coming way down in price in Maine. Whether the price is now right for a major consumer movement in the direction of wood (and away from oil) remains to be seen, so let's keep watching. Here's the story, and thanks again to Robert O'Brien (who never sleeps) for the heads-up.

The Art of Boilermaking
Thanks to subscriber, Alex Marx (the Wire Nut), for sharing this impressive video from 1935 with us. If you love big stuff you're really going to enjoy this one. Oh, and what do you suppose OSHA would have to say about all of this?

Hear that lonesome whistle blow
How about this development in London? It's hot in those underground train tunnels so let's collect that heat and use it instead of a boiler in the building next door. Brilliant! Thanks to my buddy, Hot Rod Rohr, for the heads-up.

Dead squirrels
There's a mighty fine business lesson in this short article from Fast Company. Robert O'Brien (It's Robert O'Brien Week!) shared it with me, along with a comment that there are a lot of dead squirrels in boiler rooms, too. And in more ways than one.

Nothing to do with heating
This one just made me feel great, especially when I considered that they did this video in one nine-minute take. The closest thing I've ever seen to it is this astonishing one-take commercial for Johnny Walker. Just think of the planning that has to go into these little epics. Well done!
