Dirty power
dirty power Here's a fun video, Energy Efficiency in 90 Seconds, and it manages to do just that. What do you think about using humor to get across this message? Does it work for you, or does it fall flat? Love to hear your thoughts.

Glasgow goes geo
Glasgow Here's a nice combination of fuel poverty and some abandoned coal mines. Often, all it takes is a bit of imagination (and a whole lot of money) to solve a big problem.

How's this for a plan?
Belgian port

We're seeing more and more wind turbines popping up all over the place. One of the big questions with these gynormous pinwheels is what to do when it's windy but the need for electricity is less than the supply. Well, here's one creative answer to that. One thing we can say about gravity is that's it's always dependable!

Independent Texans
Texas A and M Nice story here about an award recently gained by the good folks at Texas A&M for their new co-gen plant, which is doing some very impressive stuff. Takes care of the whole campus plus 11,000 homes. Yikes!

Happy workers!
light switch If you work in an office building, you probably suspect all of this already, but it's nice to see it wrapped up in one quick blog. And thanks to my brilliant friend, Heidi Thorne, for the heads-up!
This is telling
Home-heating bills are eating up the budgets of so many people in the U.K., but despite that, the average citizen still isn't buying into the idea that insulating the house will save fuel, even though the government wants to give them money for the insulation. Here's the story. Oh, and the other reason I wanted to share this with you is because the writer used the word "twigged." Now there's a verb we don't get to see too often!

Greenest home in America?
green home That's great for a catchy title and the place did earn LEED-Platinum status, and I have to admit I wouldn't mind living there, but do you think this is as green as it gets? And do you need that MIT degree to operate it?
 Hug your kids.
