Check out this article from the New York Times, which appeared a week after Sandy knocked us on our keisters. It makes a great case for combined heat and power units, running on natural gas. The wires fall down but you still have heat, lights, and hot water. Make sense?

For cat lovers
Leave it to the Brits to come up with this delightful product. They limit the water temperature to their radiators over there, which makes the cat happy. However, if you happen to hate cats, consider getting one of these for use on a steam radiator. MeOW!
