What?! There were no new sponsors for the month of September and enrollment forms are coming in fast. In fact, we added two new schools to the My Joyful Heart program which will significantly increase the total number of children we serve.
Less than one-third of the children enrolled benefit from sponsorship. We need your help! If you or someone you know is interested in helping a child in need, please click here for information.
Remember, $1.15 per day is all it takes to change the life of a child in need.

Ahhhh...The Aromas of Christmastime...
We know, we know, it's still fall and we promise not to rush you into planning for this upcoming joyous occasion. However, we do want you to know that we will be participating in the Yankee CandleŽ fundraiser again this year.
This year's catalog is full of beautiful items including great gift ideas, decorations, and new candle fragrances that are sure to add warmth to your home during the holiday season.

Help Us Reach Our Goal!
It's less than one month to our deadline and we still need 513 pillows for the children. Please consider helping us reach our goal of 1,000 pillows and pillow cases by November 1.
If you don't have time to shop and bring your items to the ministry center, we'll gladly accept cash donations toward the purchase of these items.
Please note - we are collecting new, standard size bed pillows and pillow cases.

There is a special Heartbeats Meeting on Wednesday, October 7, at 6:45 p.m. at the ministry center.
If you are involved in planning our annual Dinner Dance, it is important that you attend this meeting. This will be the last time we get together before the big event!

All That Jazz is less than a month away. I'm looking forward to seeing you on October 23 at The Crystal Grand in Lemont. Our itinerary for this event includes open bar, dinner, dancing, and the opportunity to win a variety of exciting prizes - including our $1,000 grand prize in the cash raffle. The Manager of Diversity and Employment from Moraine Valley sent an email to her fellow volunteers, thanking them for supporting My Joyful Heart. In her email she also said this of the volunteer experience:
"...I was thankful for the many seen and unseen blessings we often take for granted. We enter each day unknowing where it will ultimately take us. I know my heart was 'joyful' due to the experience. I hope yours was as well."

We do our work for Jesus and He blesses us, daily. Recently, we received monetary gifts from two organizations who want to help share the love of Christ with Chicagoland's children in need.

The Village of Mokena provides local business owners the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses as part of their "Discover Mokena" program. Each month, a business can sign up to give a short presentation at the start of the board meeting. My Joyful Heart's, Diane Carroll, introduced the charity to the community on September 14, 2015.
