| Yowza what a gorgeous $20 Farmer Pick box this week! |
Lots of excitement from our group of farmers as the rains have been coming pretty well on time the last couple of weeks and the forecast is really good: the cooler night are appreciated by plants and people alike. We hope tomorrow's stormy weather brings us just what we need and not too much. All went just great with deliveries this week and there are no replacements or either/or items to report for the boxes, yay!
| Our very favorite photo of Buddy taken by Jaime Ellis. | Our oldest dog Buddy got a tough diagnosis for a new "Buddy Bump" that has grown quickly and will have a series of chemotherapy injections to try to reduce the tissue. We'll be caring for him this Summer instead of making a 20th Anniversary jaunt but we would rather be with him, anyway. He is fourteen years old now and other than being a little deaf he is in excellent physical shape! Lots of exercise and healthy food on the farm. Send some loves this way for our Buddy boy if you all will! jaimieellisphotography.com
Have you tried the new Roasted Strawberry Jam yet? You can come taste it at the Freedom Farmers' Market at The Carter Center on Saturdays it is incredible! The essence of Strawberry in a jar.
Support Your Pickup Location! We are so happy to announce Wild Heaven Beer is now hosting our Decatur deliveries. Pickup your box, enjoy some local beer, life is good. Also the new Vinings location Canoe Restaurant starts with next week's deliveries! We have worked with the wonderful chefs at Canoe for many years and are happy they offered to host us for their neighborhood. Pickups are Wednesdays or Thursdays from 2pm - 5pm. Heads-up! Three or four times a year we have to take a hard look at Pickup Locations that are lagging for orders (we really need at least 10 orders per week to support the delivery costs for each site). We are coming up on the Spring Review and we have to say that East Cobb Cook's Warehouse nosedived after rallying the last time we scrutinized it and Arbor Montessori is not doing well, either. These have both been long-term sites but if you don't order we'll stop coming! Tell your friends if you want to keep these locations, we'll make a decision in the next few weeks.
Order early! It makes such a big difference for us if we can get the majority of your Online Market orders in earlier. To sweeten the deal we are boosting the Early Bird Coupon to $2! Just place your order by Midnight Friday and enter the Coupon Code earlybird when you
checkout for TWO BUCKS off of your total. Two bucks is two bucks, ya know? If folks don't take advantage of this great option we won't offer it so please help us out with early ordering.
Farmhouse Supper Club
Enjoy a Sunday drive in the country, get up-close and personal with our Goats and Chickens and enjoy meeting some new folks at one of our upcoming Farmhouse Supper Clubs! Put in your Reservations now for Sunday June 11th, sorry but Mother's Day is sold out.
Miss Guinness' two little kids are ready for snuggling and Mama Frida will be kidding again any time now!
(For planning purposes we don't have Supper Club for the months of July and August since it's so darn hot so the next ones after June will be September, October and November.)

Weekly Recipe: Vidalia & Spinach Quiche
Each week we
highlight some of the ingredients from our boxes with one of our own Farmhouse Recipes. This is the way we cook here on the Farm with our limited kitchen time but love of Good Food. We hope to inspire you to try something new, even if it's just one All-Local Meal a week! The Full Recipe is in the Wednesday Weekly Newsletters.

Quiche is not just for Breakfast or Brunch! It makes a terrific Lunch or light Supper. Pair it with a salad and some Roasted Roots and no one will leave hungry. Our version uses caramelized Vidalia Onions (the first Organic ones of 2017) and Wright Dairy Swiss Cheese with our own wonderful Farm Eggs. We know you all will love it!
1. Make your own Pie Crust or use one of the high-quality store-bought ones (you can even find organic now!). We usually keep a couple in the freezer for last-minute fruit pies or quiches, they come in handy. 2. Trim, peel and slice 1 Vidalia Onion thinly. Saute in a pan with 1Tablespoon Butter until very wilted and just starting to brown. Remove from the heat so they can cool. 3. Lightly pre-bake the crust at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes, this will help keep it from getting soggy. When the dough looks dry not glossy it's pre-baked. 4. Shred 1/4 pound Wright Dairy Swiss Cheese (half of the block). 5. Crack 6 Eggs one at a time to check for shells, beat together well. Mix in 1/2 cup Cream (or Milk). 6. Season with Egg mixture with salt and pepper, add chopped fresh herbs if you like. 7. Wash, trim and tear or chop Spinach (about 1 cup prepared).
To assemble: Place half of Cheese in the bottom of the Pie Crust, then half of the Vidalia Onions, then half of the Spinach, repeat (save a little of the Cheese for the top). Slowly pour the Egg mixture over all, shaking the pie plate a bit to get the liquid into all of the cracks and crevices.
Bake at 325 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until center is just set (you don't want to over bake). Top with a bit of the Cheese when the Quiche comes out of the oven and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
