First Week of Spring Orders
| Our lovely $20 Farmer Pick box for this week. |
We were so relieved that the Strawberry crop looks like it will be fine after last week's freeze. Peaches and Blueberries will be another week or so to find out what the last blast of Winter weather might have done to the trees and bushes so everyone just keep your fingers crossed, OK? We know the South Georgia Blueberries suffered as the bushes had already set their buds. Hopefully Fordham Blueberry Farm will have good news for us!
Everything went really well this week for our farmers' harvests, the Kale from Taylor Farm in Roanoke, AL and the Spinach from 2G Farms in Woodland, AL were especially lovely. If you have not yet tried the White Sweet Potatoes we hope you enjoy them! They have a dry texture and are less sweet than the more traditional Orange or Red ones. They would be great in this week's recipe.
Our Alabama Sunset Tuesday evening as we were packing the boxes for delivery the next day.
Early Birds Get the Goods Be sure to place your order by Midnight Friday and enter the Coupon Code earlybird when you checkout for $1 off of your total! It helps us a LOT to get a larger number of orders in earlier so we can confirm to the farms what and how much we are projected to need them to deliver. Plus, you get the best selection of what is available each week. Miss the ordering deadline? We are so sorry but honestly, after we close out at Midnight Monday the chefs we work with every week pretty much snap up everything that is left!
New Supper Club Dates The next set of dates are ready if you want to put in your Reservations now: Sunday April 9th and Mothers Day Sunday May 14th. (Mother's Day is almost full!) Come on out for a relaxing Sunday drive, feed the Goats and Chickens and enjoy a delicious four-course meal in The Farmhouse. We promise you won't have to do any chores.
Vinings Meet & Greet
We are happy to announce that Canoe Restaurant in Vinings will begin hosting our deliveries! To kick off this new site Canoe is hosting a Meet & Greet with Laurie and Will to introduce our program to those who might not know us already. If you know all about Moore Farms & Friends and have been waiting for a spot to pick up your Farm Box every week in this neck of the woods your wait is over. If you don't know about us this is a great opportunity to get to know us! Taste some delicious samples of our fresh, local organic ingredients and enjoy the cash bar. Will and Laurie will be there to answer questions and tell you all about what we do.

Update on Decatur: we expect to announce the new new Pickup Location when we open the Online Market Thursday so look for the email! We wanted to be sure we have a great spot that is easy for everyone to get in and out and an enthusiastic long-term partner. Also, the new Cook's Warehouse that is opening in Chamblee will be added when they open so stay tuned for info if you are in that part of our world.

Weekly Recipe: Veggie Frittata
 |
| | Our Frittata will please everyone! |
Each week we highlight
some of the ingredients from our boxes with one of our own Farmhouse Recipes. This is the way we cook here on the Farm with our limited kitchen time but love of Good Food. We hope to inspire you to try something new, even if it's just one All-Local Meal a week! The Full Recipe is in the Wednesday Weekly Newsletter.

Our version is super simple and makes a wonderful Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch dish. Pair with Sausage patties and a salad and suddenly you've got a tasty meal. We have even cut it up and made quick Breakfast Sandwiches out of it with buttered toast, tortilla or a pita bread.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 1. Wash, trim and chop 1/2 Onion, 1/4 pound Spinach and 1 Sweet Potato. 2. In an oven-proof skillet melt 1 Tablespoon Butter over medium heat. Saute the Onion and Sweet Potato, season with salt and pepper. Cook until they are tender but not mushy. 3. Beat 2 Eggs per person (we always crack our eggs into a small bowl individually so that bits of shell can be removed if necessary. 4. Add another Tablespoon Butter to the cooked vegetables then the Spinach, saute for just a minute until it is barely wilted. 5. Pour the beaten Eggs over the vegetables, season with salt and pepper. Cook on the stovetop over the medium heat until the base of the Eggs starts to set then place the skillet in the oven to finish cooking. It only takes a few minutes so don't go off and leave it!
When the top of the Eggs are set take the skillet out of the oven and loosen the sides of the Frittata. Place a serving plate on top of the skillet and flip it over to serve. If you like you can sprinkle with grated cheese, Wright Dairy Red Hill Cheddar is wonderful for this. Slice into wedges and serve.
