| Our beautiful and yummy $20 Farmer Pick box. |
Just a beautiful though dry dry dry week as we enjoy the last bits of warm days (the weekend's forecast is the first frost-freeze warning!). Nothing unusual or problematic with orders and deliveries so hopefully everyone will find just what they expected when you open your box of goodies. Thinking ahead for next week's Thanksgiving Holiday see below for the Pickup Locations that will have deliveries on Wednesday only.
| We made everyone do a little rain dance! |
We had a fantastic Farmhouse Supper Club on Sunday, the last one of the year and we were sold out with 50 folks. Between all the Baby Goat petting, Chicken and Duck feeding and Good Food eating we think everyone had a very memorable afternoon on the Farm. We will open up Reservations for the February Farm Dinner tomorrow for holiday gift-giving options so look for that in the Online Market is Open email.
Thinking about holiday gift giving? Our Gift Certificates are a great way to share our farmer's Good Food and we always have some folks who ask for an Investment Membership in lieu of material goods. Our Fall Investment Incentive is expiring on November 19th so check out the details below and to the left for more info.

Each week we highlight some of the ingredients from our boxes with one of our own Farmhouse Recipes. This is the way we cook here on the Farm with our limited kitchen time but love of Good Food. We hope to inspire you to try something new, even if it's just one All-Local Meal a week!
Soup Season is upon us folks, our version of this favorite is super simple if you have never made it at home. Make extra and freeze to have a quick supper with a salad on busy nights! Will likes this soup pureed so that it is creamy and Laurie prefers it with some Broccoli chunks (either way it is delicious).
Ingredients: ½ - ¾ pound Broccoli, washed trimmed and chopped 2 cups Vegetable or Chicken Broth 2 cups Cream, Milk or Half & Half 1/2 cup grated Wright Dairy Red Hill Cheddar
Olive Oil, salt and pepper
Place Broccoli in a soup pot and saute with 2T Olive Oil over medium heat, season with salt and pepper and cook until just tender. Add 2 cups Chicken or Vegetable Broth, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Turn off heat and stir in 2 cups Cream, Milk (or half and half) and ½ cup grated Red Hill Cheddar. Using an immersion blender puree the soup until desired consistency (Will likes it very smooth Laurie likes it a little chunky). If you don't have an immersion blender a food processor or blender will work as well but put an immersion blender on your wish list, they are great!
