Online Market Ordering Options
One of the best things about our Online Market is that you only order when you want to get another box of our farmers' Good Food! Here are the basics on placing an order:

1. Farmer Pick Box - Choose from our $20, $30 or $40 boxes. We also offer other packages based on availability including Soup & Salad Box, Dinner Packages and Meat Packages. These count as a "Farmer Pick" order type.

2. Farmer Pick with Add-Ons You can add as many extra items to a Farmer Pick Box as you like from our Online Market, we're already packing the box for you!

3. Custom Choice Order - Or you can fully customize your order for a $5 Custom Choice Fee. (Custom Choice orders get priority if we are short on an item and are individually packed so they get VIP treatment!)

Here are some more ways we make it easy for folks to order:

Online Market Orders This Week & Don't Get Left Out!
Our $20 Farmer Pick this week
We surely did enjoy this lovely Fall week, the temperature change was so refreshing, now all we need is some rain. Though we are thankful not to be in the path of the Atlantic Hurricane slowly making its way Northward, yikes. We only had a couple of items that we ended up changing from our original harvest forecast: we didn't quite have enough of the delicious Delicata Squash from Riverview Farms so some folks got one of their yummy Spaghetti Squash instead (for Farmer Picks). Also the Baby Pac Choi Salad Mix from Ups and Downs Farm is a mix of Pac Choi and Arugula so everyone gets a little extra something going on in there! Both tender greens are tasty on sandwiches or salads. If your box has the skinny red "Jimmy Nardello" Peppers in it we wanted to remind you that they are sweet! This variety almost was lost forever because folks discriminated again them, thinking they "looked" like hot peppers. Not hot, sweet!

We hope you like the pretty preview of our new website design! Our wonderful web folks have been working their techno tails off getting the last details done so we can open up tomorrow (Thursday October 6th).

For some folks this may be the last email you get from us for now: if your Membership in no longer active your account will not migrate to the new site but you can always re-register! If you don't get the "Online Market is Open" email tomorrow with instructions on logging in to your account but you think your account was still active send us an email and we'll get right back to you. Some of the changes and updates you will find on our beautiful new Online Market include:
  • Our Weekly Farmer Pick Forecast will be listed on the Online Market so you can easily view it anytime.
  • Investment Accounts are now calculated on the site so you can always look up your balance.
  • We will only send out two emails per week: the "Online Market is Open" and our "Weekly Newsletter". We have eliminated the Monday "Order Reminder" so don't forget to order by Midnight Monday!
  • While we have not raised product prices we have rounded up our Annual Membership Fee to $36 ($3 per month). This covers the cost of our boxes, labels and packaging.
  • Our Recipes will be searchable by ingredient! We're still uploading more of them and now it will be easy to find great new ways to prepare and enjoy that delicious mystery vegetable.
What has not changed is the wonderful array of locally grown Real Food from our wonderful Farmers:
  • Dairy: Atlanta Fresh Greek Yogurt; Wright Dairy Butter and Cow's Milk Cheeses; Banner Butter.
  • Eggs: GMO and Soy-Free from our group of farmers.
  • Meats: Pork, Beef and Chicken (our farmers raise their animals naturally, grazing on pasture and never any hormones or antibiotics).
  • Our ever-popular Dinner Packages include the recipes to make a satisfying Farmhouse meal at home.
  • Plenty of fresh seasonal Fruits and Vegetables to choose from!

Weekly Recipe
Each week we highlight some of the ingredients from our boxes with one of our own Farmhouse Recipes. This is the way we cook here on the Farm with our limited kitchen time but love of Good Food. We hope to inspire you to try something new, even if it's just one All-Local Meal a week!

This week it's our easy-peasy Apple Dumplings, we hope you enjoy making and sharing them! This is a great recipe for kids.

Apple Dumplings
1. Wash, trim and peel one Apple for every two Dumplings you are going to make. Cut the Apples in half and scoop out the core. Set aside until ready to assemble.
2. Prepare pie crust or if you are like us, use one of those refrigerator crusts found in the grocery store (no shame in this!). Look at the labels because there are definitely some that are better quality than others. If you want to make your own we suggest this recipe. One crust makes four Dumplings.
3. Roll out your crust and cut it into quarters so you have four triangle-shaped pieces. Keep crust in the fridge until you are ready to assemble.
4. Prepare filling: in a bowl with a fork (or in a food processor) mix-mash together 1 Tablespoon Butter, 1 Tablespoon Sugar, 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon and a pinch of salt for each Dumpling you are making (so 4 Tablespoons for four Dumplings, 8 Tablespoons for eight, etc.). These measurements are perfect for math challenges for kids! You want the Butter-Sugar mixture to be kind of crumbly.
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and assemble the Dumplings: roll the Apple halves in the Butter-Sugar mixture and place flat side down in the middle of the crust triangle. If you want to you can sprinkle a little more of the Sugar mix on top. Fold the crust corners up and pinch them together. Place the Dumplings on a lined baking sheet (a Silpat sheet or parchment makes it a lot easier if the sugar caramelizes on the bottom!) and bake for 30 minutes. Allow to cool a bit before serving warm with ice cream. These can be made ahead and warmed in the oven.
