Moore Farms
Our Orders For You This Week
Our $20 Farmer Pick is a box full of Summer this week!
Okey dokey just another great week of beautiful Real Food coming from our Farm Friends to your Family! We only had one switch-up when the Easter Egg Radishes didn't get here we put a nice Hothouse Tomato into the Farmer Pick boxes instead and folks who ordered them as a Custom Item got Watermelon Radishes. Otherwise just a whole lot of delicious goodness going on 'round here!

Pics clockwise from top left: a glimmer of hope after the storm with Black Beans Sprouting (the Squash Patch was squashed flat but we only lost a few plants); The Farmyard with all of the debris; the Pecan Tree was bent almost in half but didn't come down; the Baby Chick House took a direct hit from the roof of the Goat House!
We had quite an exciting Friday afternoon last week when a dramatic storm  cell hit us here at Moore Farms! At one point we were sure the 50' Pecan tree in the Farmyard was going to go down, taking the Chicken House with it. We posted at the time on our Facebook page and we wanted to share some more pictures here in the Newsletter. The profile of our new Farm Partners Danny and Sandy Perry (who got to experience Mother Nature's dramatic welcome to the neighborhood) will be in next week's Newsletter.

If you haven't made the journey to Moore Farms from the big city we know you will enjoy the lovely drive and spend a day with us. Our last three Farmhouse Supper Club dates for this year are now set and reservations are open. We sold out almost every date for Spring and Summer so don't wait too long if you want to sign up.

Weekly Recipe: Chilled Three Sisters Soup
Our soup samples from Atlanta Food & Wine Festival (photo by Tracy Stuckrath of Thrive! Meetings and Events)
This is the light, refreshing and simply delicious soup we sampled at Atlanta Food & Wine Festival this year and served for our June Farmhouse Supper Club. Chilled soups are perfect for hot Summer days, serve with a Salad and you've got lunch. Our recipe is dairy and gluten free we know everyone will love it!

1. Cut the kernels off of two Sweet Corn Cobs, set aside.
2. Wash, trim and chop 2 cups of Summer Squash, one cup of Green Beans and dice one Vidalia Onion.
3. In a saute pan heat 2T Butter or Olive Oil over medium, saute vegetables together until just tender, no need to cook to the mushy stage.
4. Puree in a blender, food processor or use an immersion blender until desired consistency. You can also add chicken or vegetable broth to stretch the amount or thin the texture if it's too thick. Season with salt and pepper and chill until ready to serve with fresh chopped herbs.
