| Yowza, we have a beautiful $20 Farmer Pick box this week! |
We had a blast at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival this past weekend, literally thousands of folks tasted our Chilled Three Sisters Soup! We'll have the recipe as soon as we have our first solid week of Squash, Beans and Sweet Corn harvests. Our first week of Blueberries was fantastic though we had a little shifting to do as we didn't get as many as we expected (next week will be flush!). So we had a few replacements: we sent Peaches instead of the second order of Blueberries for $40 boxes; 1/2 pound of the first Green Beans OR 1/2 pound of Purple Snow Peas in place of the 1/2 pound Sugar Snap Peas for some Farmer Picks and Veggie Dinner Plate Packages; and the Fruit Boxes got a little switch up with one pint of Blueberries (instead of two) and two order of Peaches (instead of one)! It's rare we have multiple replacements like this but with seasonal transitions sometimes we have more or less than expected. We try to be democratic about it and hope everyone is happy with the boxes of yummy food we sent you!
Our Summer Investment Incentive has a super-duper Goodie Bag which includes Strawberry Orange Jam and Pecan Point Granola for (Basic level along with regular Goodies), we'll add Strawberries and Yogurt for Supporting Level investments and two Cheese selections for Sustaining investors (see details below about how our Investment Program works). Incentive runs through Tuesday June 28th for new and renewing Investors and can be purchased even when the rest of the Online Market is closed for ordering.

Weekly Recipe: Blueberry Peach Crumble
With the 2016 seasonal debut of these two favorite fruits we had to devote some space and time to a quick and easy way to enjoy them together. Great for dessert, a healthy snack or even breakfast (why not?) our version pairs Pecan Point Farm Honey Pecan Granola for a crunchy satisfying cup of love. This is a really good "starter" recipe for the young cooks in your family: with a little help they can learn to make this on their own! This recipe will serve a polite portion for 4-6 folks or a serious scoop for 2-4. 1. Wash, trim and slice 4-6 fresh Peaches. No need to peel unless you really don't like the skins, the peel has good vitamins. 2. Butter a pie pan, square baking dish or individual ramekins then place sliced Peaches in dish. You can arrange them in a pretty pattern or just let them fall where they may. Wash 1 pint fresh Blueberries and scatter on top of the Peaches. 3. Sprinkle the fruit with sugar to your taste (they don't need a lot). 4. In a bowl combine 1 cup Pecan Point Granola, 1.4 cup Flour and 2 Tbs melted Butter. Mix together until texture is crumbly, sprinkle on top of the fruit. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until browned and bubbly. Serve with Vanilla ice cream.
