Our Orders This Week
|
Another box of delicious food this week for our $20 Farmer Pick!

It was a great work week all around, everything pretty well going as planned for harvests and deliveries. It's another exciting seasonal change and next week we'll have lots of new items starting for early Fall crops!

Our little Goat Kid now has a name: meet Miss Guinness!
|
Baby Goat Update: our little orphaned goat has a name now, "Miss Guinness" comes from her black and brown fur and she's getting sassier by the day! She has really started to grow and we're trying hard not to just keep her on the porch all the time with the dogs. She spends several hours every day hanging in the Farmyard with her sister Latte and the other animals so she learns all kinds of Goat stuff. She still sleeps on the Farmhouse Porch in a dog crate so we can keep an eye on her. We know you won't believe this but she is SO CUTE!!! Folks who came out this past Saturday for our Farmhouse Supper Club got to spoil her rotten. We have names for the rest of our Goat Kids, too! We had the Supper Club folks draw names and so now we have S'more, Blue Boy, Chai, Gelato, Kid Ink, Tuscan, York and Betty Boop running around the Farmyard. We really appreciated the help coming up with eight more names!
Pickup Location Changes?
Some of our wonderful Pickup Locations that have been skating by for a while now with only a few Members supporting them. Pretty much we need at least 10 orders per week to cover delivery costs to each site. We have a big new location starting soon and will simply have to make a decision about cutting some delivery stops. These Locations are in danger of being dropped! If you want to keep them we need to know it in the next few weeks so place your orders and tell your friends. Let us know if you want some coupons to give out, too. We have had some terrific responses so far but we need to know if you want us to keep these sites. Below we listed some statistics on how many Members have picked up at each site since the first of the year and then the average number of orders per week for the last 4-5 months.
- Smyrna Grateful Bread Company (19 Members / 5 orders)
- Atlanta Community Food Bank (25 Members / 4 orders)
- Tucker Mother Nature's (12 Members / 2 orders - this was the last week for Tucker, sorry!)
- East Cobb Cooks Warehouse (32 Members / 6 orders)
- Emory University (39 Members / 6 orders)
- Clifton Schools - (Clifton 25 Members / 3 orders) (Clairmont 31 Members / 5 orders)
- Garrison Afterschool (18 Members / 3 orders)

Weekly Recipe:
Stir Fried Okra with Tofu
Will is on a stir-fry kick these days, this delicious plate was lunch last week with tasty sweet Okra, Peppers, Crispy Tofu and lots of Thai Basil. Yum!
1. Drain Firm Tofu well, cut into chunks. Fry until crispy in 6 Tablespoons Peanut, Canola, Coconut Oil, etc., set aside.
2. Wash, trim and dry Okra pods well. Slice in half lengthwise. Fry these the same way as the Tofu, until nicely crispy and browned. Take Okra out of pan and stir-fry the washed, trimmed and sliced Sweet Peppers.
3. Put Tofu and Okra back in to the pan with the Peppers and stir-fry until everything is heated through. Season with Sweet Chili Sauce, Soy Sauce, Ginger and Garlic (we also like a teaspoon of Hot Garlic Chili Sauce!). Just before serving with rice or noodles add 1/2 cup washed and chopped Thai Basil. The flavor of this herb really makes the dish!
