Moore Farms
Terrific Orders for This Week!
Our gorgeous $20 Farmer Pick Box this week.
Woo hoo just another LOVELY week of Good Food from our farmers fr your table! We only had one glitch, the first delivery from Signal Mountain Farm arrived missing the Pac Choi. We replaced for $30 Farmer Picks with another order of Asparagus (hope everyone is happy with that!). If your Pac Choi was an Add-On or Custom Order (we don't make replacements for Custom Items) we have already noted your account to automatically replace or credit your next box. Come see us in Atlanta
this weekend at the Freedom Farmers Market at The Carter Center or in the Tasting Tent at Atlanta Food & Wine Festival (details below)!!!

Fun on The Farm
Rosco coated in red mud
(he is normally jet black!)

You know it's just always something. This week we had a new WWOOF-er arrive (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) a fine French fellow who will be with us for a few weeks with this great work exchange program. All had been going great: we got the main section of Tomatoes finished, working on a new chicken house and tried to outsmart our Goats who have been making daily raids on the chicken house feeders. Then on Tuesday we had the Great Deluge: the back Farmyard became a raging river and our normally sweet Farm Dogs all decided to dig to kingdom come in a critter hole! Probably a Rabbit, whatever it was apparently too much doggie fun to resist. Just a bit chaotic but of course that is to be expected around here. More pics and video clips on our Facebook page!

Weekly Recipe:
Tomato Asparagus Salad
Will has been making this a lot for our Farm lunches on order packing days when we're feeding 8-10 folks. This last week he hit it with grilled Asparagus and Green Onions combined with chopped Tomatoes. If you're grilling anyway put some Asparagus on there and enjoy this yummy fresh flavor combo! To prepare: wash, trim and toss Asparagus with just enough Olive Oil to coat. Grill over medium heat for about 3 minutes, set aside. Wash, trim and chop Tomatoes and Green Onions. Chop grilled Asparagus into bite-sized pieces (or leave whole if you like). Toss all vegetables together with a dash of Apple Cider Vinegar and Olive Oil, season with salt and pepper. Serve at room temperature or chill, it gets better the next day!

Moore Farms City Chicks
We have some beautiful Chick Mixes this year!
If you have ever thought about being a City Chicken owner we are ready and willing to enable your aspirations! Our Moore Farms City Chicks program set up a dozen Atlanta families with their very own backyard flock "starter kit" last year. Our first little ones moved to their new Decatur digs this week! We provide everything you need to get started, you just supply the coop (you can build your own or there are LOTS of kits you can find online). Advantages of our program include a Rooster Return guarantee and 24/7 Tech Support.  Check out the details here and put in your reservation for your Chicks!
From the Farmers
We are very proud to bring our farm harvests to your family's table and we always want to know what you think about what we do. Send us your recipes, pictures and stories and thank you for supporting your local food system!

Moore Farms and Friends Farm to School Program
We often get requests from schools to host our pickups but with most educational calendars it's difficult for us to make it work. As an alternative we have Partnered with these Atlanta area schools: new and renewing Members let us know they were referred by their school and we give back $5 to the PTA, school garden or other designated program. Ask us about adding your school to the referral list!
