Moore Farms
Orders First Week of Spring
Our gorgeous $20 Farmer Pick box this week!
Some weeks you just wonder what the heck, you know? We had some website server weirdness RIGHT when everyone was trying to checkout, argh! Got through that then the power went out for no apparent reason, was out for the whole area
Levi with his Eggs he gathered Saturday for our Farmhouse Supper Club. SO cute!
for over an hour. Stressful with the walk-in cooler and freezers full of Pork! One good thing that came out of the Terrible Tuesday was we finally got our propane generator hooked up! Now the power will NEVER go out again but if it does we're covered. : ) Other than that stuff everything else went great for orders, yay!

What a wonderful day we  had Saturday for our March Farmhouse Supper Club! We can't get over the terrific groups of folks we have had come out, a lovey mix with great conversations going on with yummy food here at the farm. The April Supper is almost full so email us ASAP if you want to reserve a seat!

Spring is certainly "sproinging" out all over and it seems like everything is flowering
The Peach trees are in full blossom!
and leafing out overnight! We had some new arrivals at Moore Farms this week: four Ducklings came from a neighbor who didn't have room for them; two Goats came from Ups and Downs Farm (one to stay permanently, the other to have a conjugal visit with our buck, Diego!); and our Chicken Plucker finally got here so now we are ready to process chickens on the farm on a regular basis, yay! Buona Primavera!

Weekly Recipe
This week we have our Moore Farms Brunch Menu with Vegetable Hash, Easy Poached Eggs and Bacon. Enjoy this meal for a weekend Brunch or have it for Dinner. This is one plate of yumminess that will please everyone!

Vegetable Hash with Poached Eggs and Bacon
1. Wash, trim and chop 2 pounds of Mixed Roots into bite-sized pieces.
2. Wash, trim and chop 3-4 ribs of Kale or more to your taste.
3. Chop 4-5 slices of Frolona Farms Smoked Bacon (or other good Bacon) into bite-sized pieces.
4. Prepare Eggs: crack each into a small bowl to be sure there are no shell bits and the yolk is intact.
5. In a large skillet cook Bacon until crisp, remove from pan. Wipe out Bacon grease and heat 2T Butter and 2T Olive Oil over medium flame. Add Mixed Roots, saute with salt and pepper over for 5-10 minutes or until Roots are starting to get tender. Add Kale and continue to cook until wilted. Add cooked Bacon back to pan and combine. Make a little well in the Hash for each Egg and carefully pour them in. Cover and turn heat down to medium low to "poach" the Eggs in the Hash, cook to your desired done-ness.
