Moore Farms
Our Green Orders This Week!
Our lovely $20 Farmer Pick box this week.
Green Tomatoes, Kale, Turnip Greens, Salad Mix, Pac Choi, we had a whole lotta Green going on this week! We have many Members who cannot wait until the Fall Green Season begins (though please know that work very hard to offer as much produce variety as possible each week: you won't ever get just a

big box of nothing but
Greens for a Farmer Pick!). Fall Greens are refreshing and we really ramp up on Stir Fries and Soups with Fall and Winter ingredients. Not sure about (or think you really don't like) the Purple Top Turnips in this week's box? Turnips are a wonderful "background" vegetable. Use them as you would Carrots or Potatoes in Soups, Pasta Dishes and Casseroles. They are wonderful roasted. They add a savory subtle flavor and if they are chopped or grated most folks will not even discern what they are. A delicious and simple stir fry around the farm includes Turnips sliced into matchsticks, Shiitake Mushrooms and Pac Choi. A dash of Soy Sauce, throw in some Garlic and Ginger with Rice and you have got a lovely meal. Add Tofu or another protein of your choice and yum, yum, yum!

Call Us, Ya'll!
For real, our time in the office is extremely limited now as Will's mom is requiring more and more of our attention for her care. With 100 Chickens, a dozen Ducks, ten Goats, four  Pigs and three Dogs we have just about as much as we can manage. We don't have those handheld thingamajigs folks in the city use all the time to text and email. If you have a question about your order (can't find your box, can't find your Cooler Items, missed your pickup, etc.,) PLEASE CALL US! We can't help you if we don't know there is a problem. Don't worry about bothering us, we want to hear from you, please call. If we get your email a day or two later it's pretty much too late for us to help! 256-282-7889
If your question does not require an immediate response and you don't hear back from us in a day or two rattle my cage! : )
P.S. We don't get text messages on the farm!
From the Farmers
We are very proud to bring our farm harvests to your family's table and we always want to know what you think about what we do. Send us your recipes, pictures and stories and thank you for supporting your local food system!
