Moore Farms
Orders This Week!
Our beautiful $20 box this week is chock-full of antioxidants!
Wow, October already! We love the cooler weather though we're ready for some more rain again, please. All went just peachy for boxes this week, the little seasonal hump between Summer and Fall harvests seems to have settled a bit.
Our latest batch of Baby Chicks moved out last week! They are running around, scratching and pecking with the big chickens in the Farmyard.
Fall Investment Incentive
Just a quick preview: for the month of October our Fall Investment Incentive will be a terrific Gift Basket! Choose from one of our great Investment levels and enjoy our special basket of goodies as well as a return on your Investment of up to 7%! Click here for Investment details and the Gift Basket includes: Shelled Pecans, Apples, Fennel & Ale Cheddar; Strawberry Orange Jam; Handmade Soap and All Natural Lip Balm (valued at $35!). We'll wrap it up for you to enjoy or give to someone you like. : )

Pickup Location Changes
So we finally had to admit defeat with our Turner CNN and Techwood and Cox Communications Pickup Locations. We had dwindled down to just a few orders for each and we really have to have a minimum of ten orders to cover delivery costs. Hopefully one of our conveniently location sites will work for folks who were picking up at work. We plan to resume the Cox Communications site in the Spring after their construction allows for a permanent area for us to deliver our boxes each week. We are looking at a couple of new locations to fill these slots and if you have any suggestions let us know!

Thanksgiving Turkeys
So this year we just have too much going on here at Moore Farms with Will's mom to take on the seasonal Turkey ordering. We are referring our Members to the fine folks at Grassroots Farm for local pasture-raised birds. Turkeys can be reserved with a deposit and picked up at the Freedom Farmers Market. If you are interested please don't delay: there is a limited number still available! Contact the farm directly for details:
From the Farmers
We are very proud to bring our farm harvests to your family's table and we always want to know what you think about what we do. Send us your recipes, pictures and stories and thank you for supporting your local food system!

Weekly Recipe
Late Summer Minestrone Soup
Many thanks to Member Ashley Jehle for sending us this vegetariantimes.com
recipe, the first of our Fall Soups! We have many of the main ingredients in our Dinner Packages this week, choose from Veggie or Meat versions (we added Sausage!).  We simplified the dish when we made it on the farm for lunch this week, using Onions instead of Leeks, Oregano in place of Italian Seasoning and canned Corn in place of fresh or frozen. It sure is a tasty and satisfying meal with a slice of cornbread!
