Moore Farms
Yummy Orders This Week!
Our $20 Farmer Pick box this week.
We have had a big hairy couple of weeks here at Moore Farms as we
Will's mom Virginia moved out of both her Assisted Living room and Senior Apartment and into the Farmhouse with us. She had been  recovering well from a terrible leg fracture and surgery this Spring but at 83 she took a couple of falls and now she is on Hospice care. Thank goodness we found a wonderful full time caregiver for her, this was the only way we were going to be able to get back to our "normal" operations around here. Thanks so much again to our fantastic Members for their understanding and patience as we took the time to be sure Virginia has the care she needs. Your notes, cards, emails and heartfelt prayers and good wishes mean so much to all of us!
Our four new Piggies are so sweet! They are very happy and spend their piggy days rolling in the mud, eating and rooting up weeds.
From the Farmers
We are very proud to bring our farm harvests to your family's table and we always want to know what you think about what we do. Send us your recipes, pictures and stories and thank you for supporting your local food system!

Meatloaf Dinner
Meatloaf We sold out of our Meatloaf Dinner Package this week so we decided to include the recipe in the Newsletter. This was lunch for our packing crew Wednesday!

Will's Mixed Meatloaf

In a bowl combine 1 pound each Ground Beef and Pork Sausage. Add 1/4 cup finely chopped Sweet Pepper, 1 cup fresh bread crumbs, 2 Eggs lightly beaten, 1T Garlic Powder, salt and pepper.

Mix together well and form into a loaf shape, place in baking dish and bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

For glaze: combine 1/4 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. Sauce Meatloaf and bake another 10 minutes. Allow to rest before serving.

For the Dinner Package: wash, trim and chop Green Beans, saute with 2T Olive Oil, salt and pepper. Cook for 3-5 minutes, cover and turn off heat to finish cooking. Wash, trim and chop Summer Squash, cook with the same method as the Beans. Just before serving the meal wash, trim and slice Tomatoes and serve with a little salt and pepper.
