Holiday Week Orders
Our yummy Holiday Week $20 Farmers Pick Box
Many thanks to all of our Members who included our farmer's harvests in their Holiday Week menu plans! We are so happy that we can produce Good Food year-round here in our Southern Foodshed and that so many of our folks enjoy it. We kept the Farmers Pick boxes simple this week and featured produce from our Georgia and Alabama farms along with the first of the Florida harvests. We only had a couple of glitches, not bad considering we woke up to a layer of snow here at Moore Farms Wednesday morning! The Florida Organic Tangerines we ordered were a no-show but we got some unexpected Grapefruit and extra Oranges. So we substituted with a second order of Oranges for our $40 Farmers Picks and Grapefruit for our Fruit Only Boxes. If you had Tangerines ordered as a Custom Choice or Add-on Item we have noted your account and will automatically replace or credit them in your next order. Sorry about that! Also our first delivery of Banner Butter was missing the Garlic and Herb flavor! We didn't realize the mistake until we were packing the Cooler Items Wednesday morning, we sent their delicious Caramelized Onion/Balsamic Fig for replacement and hope everyone enjoys them. All else went just fine, whew!
An early taste of Winter this year as we woke to find a layer of
wet snow the morning before Thanksgiving. Everyone on the farm is warm and snuggly, including people, Dogs, Cats, Chickens, Ducks, Goats and the Pig. We are very Thankful for propane today!
From Moore Farms & our Farmer Friends we wish you a Happy & Delicious Holiday!

Weekly Recipe
Just in time for the Holidays we're featuring our own recipe for
Cornbread and Grits Dressing
The morning of or the day before make one batch of Cornbread and 2 cups cooked Grits. The Grits give a great texture and flavor to the traditional Cornbread Dressing.

Prepare ingredients:

     3 ½ cups crumbled Cornbread

2 ½ cups crumbled biscuits or chopped bread

     2 cups prepared Grits

     3 Eggs

½ cup each finely chopped Onion and Celery, lightly sauteed

     2 cups Chicken Broth

     ½ cup melted butter

Salt and Pepper to taste, 1 tsp Dried Sage or to your taste

Mix ingredients well, the mixture should be the consistency of pancake batter. Add broth/water if too thick

or more cornbread or biscuits if texture is too thin. (We also like to add 1/2 pound cooked Sausage to this recipe.)

Bake at 350 degrees until browned and center is set. (Usually about 1 hour)
