Our Lovely Orders For This Week's Deliveries
Another great array in this week's $20 Farmer Pick box!
So another great week of farm harvests, despite Mother Nature's attempts to fool us. It's been a crazy Summer with all the weather ups and downs and we're awfully proud of all of our growers persevering through the mess! Here's hoping Fall and Winter 2013 won't be quite as challenging. The only change we had for Farmer's Pick orders were with the Vidalia Onions: we didn't get as many as we expected so some folks got an order of Roma Tomatoes for replacement. Otherwise we were particularly happy to get the great Green Beans, they are not "stringless" so you have to give them a little attention but they sure are tasty! And since this has definitely NOT been a big
Delicata Squash is definitely delicious and you can eat the roasted skin, too!
Bean year due to the weather we appreciated them all the more.
The Delicata Squash in the $40 Farmer Picks and for Custom Choice are a big favorite of ours. Try them simply prepared by cutting them in half, scooping out the seeds, placing cut-side down on a baking sheet and roasting at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Allow to rest and serve with a little pat of butter, yum!

New Pickup Locations

Weekly Recipe
Our Recipe of the Week is for our Veggie Dinner Package

Yummy Veggie Pasta
This dish is great served hot or room temperature or chilled for a salad. Terrific for leftovers or lunch the next day!

1. Prepare Pasta of your choice.

2. Wash, trim and chop Veggies: Tomatoes, Sweet Pepper, Squash, Onion, Garlic. Wash and chop Basil, set aside.

3. Grate the Wanda (Gouda style) Cheese.

4. Saute prepared Veggies in 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil with salt and pepper to taste. We like to add some Red Pepper Flakes, too.

5. Toss prepared Pasta and Sauteed Veggies. Just before serving add the Basil and Cheese. This one is a hit even with our meat-eating Farm Crew!
