Delectable Orders For This Week's Deliveries!
Our $20 Farmer's Pick Order this week, yum!
OK, enough already. It can stop raining now! Not sure who the memo is supposed to go to, we have been addressing everyone we can think of who might have influence in the matter but apparently to no avail! Sigh.

Despite Mother Nature's attempt to foil us our farms have delivered some really beautiful produce again this week. Everything came in just as planned so no issues with orders, yay! Harvest Forecasts are pretty much week to week right now as second and third plantings will hopefully kick in on time. Honestly, the rain isn't so much of the trouble as the lack of sunshine: they need the sun's energy to produce well. Another problem the wet is bringing is with our seed saving. Normally we save seeds from at least 8-10 different crops but this year it's been tough to get them collected and cured properly. In general farmers are the sort of folks who accept these kinds of challenges with a grain of salt (we have to!). Keep Calm and Carry On!
Laurie as the Piggy Pied Piper!
If you didn't see our Facebook posting from last week ya'll have just got to see this one! Will and I were busy replacing the cooler unit on our walk-in (a big job) when we looked up and saw all five of our Pigs trotting happily up the road! Fortunately they are well-trained to follow a feed bucket and they went right back into the Farmyard as happy Pigs will do. It took me three hours in the pouring rain on Friday to fix the fence they had broken through, they had really done a number on it. Follow us on Facebook Like us on Facebook and our other social media links as we post Farm Pics pretty regularly!

Weekly Recipe
Our Recipe of the Week is for one of our favorite Summer Suppers, Rattatouille Pasta. Why not have a Dinner and a Movie Night and watch "Rattatouille" to go with the meal?
Rattatouille Pasta

If your eaters are picky try blending up the sauce, the flavors are fantastic and you'll likely win them over!

1. Wash trim an chop Vegetables: Squash, Eggplant, Onion, Sweet Pepper, Tomatoes and Garlic.

2. Saute until tender in 2T Olive Oil, season with salt and pepper. Add 1 cup liquid (water, wine or broth) cover and simmer for 10-20 minutes.

3. Prepare Pasta of your choice while the Sauce is cooking.

4. Wash, trim and chop Basil.

When sauce has cooked down (Veggies will almost "melt") stir well and check for seasoning. Toss with Pasta and serve with grated cheese and chopped Basil. For Meat Lovers you could add Ground Sausage or Pork, too.
