Moore Farms
Our Bee-yoo-tiful Orders This Week!
Wow, just boxes full of Summer being delivered this week from our farms. And no issues on any of the produce so that's great, makes our life easier, too. We are all just mowing and tilling and plowing like crazy trying to get some more Fall crops planted before the next round of rains. . .
Summertime in a Box this week for our $20 Farmers Picks!
We are looking good so far for the rest of the season, some of our local fruits have been very curtailed by the wet weather: Blueberries are all over with and Peaches are winding down already. : (  But lots of good harvests still going on in particular the Tomatoes have been great! We had a very good Potato crop this year despite the difficulty in getting them up and out of the ground. We'll have more of our New Potatoes for a few more weeks.

We are very proud to bring our farm harvests to your family's table and we always want to know what you think about what we do. Send us your recipes, pictures and stories and thank you for supporting your local food system!

Weekly Recipe
Our Recipe is an adaptation of one sent to us by Online Market Member Evan Brennan, thanks, Evan! It is an absolutely delicious dish so we put together a Dinner Package with the ingredients to make it easier for folks to fix and enjoy. Of course we had to add some more Vegetables to an otherwise very traditional Chinese dish!

Mao Tao Tofu
Heat 1T Peanut or Veg Oil in a large skillet or wok, add 1/2t Ground Anise, 1/2 pound Ground Pork or Sausage and 1 small diced Onion, brown well until Pork is crispy. Add 1 diced Bell Pepper, 2 diced Asian Eggplant, Bay Leaves and crushed Coriander Seed. Saute until Vegetables soften. Add 1.5 cups Sake (or dry White Wine), simmer for 2 minutes. Add 1t Ground Ginger, salt and pepper to taste, 1T Soy Sauce, 1T Hoisin Sauce and Red Pepper Flakes to taste. Add 1 cup Chicken Broth and 1 pkg diced Firm Tofu. Simmer for 10 minutes or so until liquid reduces a bit. Remove Bay Leaves and serve with rice. (The aroma of this dish is incredible!)
