January 23 symposium looks to the region's future

East Bay Leadership Council and Chevron present East Bay USA: Leading the Region Toward a Sustainable Future

The 28th annual East Bay USA half-day symposium, Leading the Region Toward a Sustainable Future, will offer an outstanding lineup of local and international thought leaders, who will share their educated perspectives at the Hilton Concord on Thursday, January 23.

If you aren't already registered, please do so no later than Tuesday, January 21. This is an event you do not want to miss! The conference opens at 8 a.m. with registration, exhibits and networking. The morning program begins promptly at 9 a.m. and runs through lunch, adjourning at 2 p.m. and reconvening at 5:30 p.m. for a reception and a 7 p.m. dinner presentation.

Topics of discussion will include the regional and global economy, alternative transportation, champions of new technologies in our region and how to get new technology to the marketplace. Presenters include morning speaker Christopher Thornberg of Beacon Economics, luncheon keynoter Randy Haykin of Outlook Ventures and dinner keynoter Geoff Colvin of Fortune Magazine.

Panelists discussing transportation, technology and the marketplace are Chris Hedden and Michael Fischer of Cambridge Systematics, Chris Weeks of Sunset Development/Bishop Ranch and Randy Iwasaki of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority. The new technologies panel features Rich Stump of FATHOM, Ulrik Grape of SEEO, Sean Chang of The Clorox Company and Ken Maxey of Comcast.
