Deadline for nominations is Thursday, August 15
Join the East Bay Leadership Council's Social Responsibility Task Force on Thursday, November 7, for the always uplifting Contra Costa/Tri-Valley Philanthropy Awards Breakfast at the Hilton Concord. The third annual breakfast event is a celebration of the outstanding contributions of time, leadership and financial support made by many businesses, individuals, families and nonprofit organizations throughout the East Bay every day. The program serves to build awareness and inspire more organizations to get involved in philanthropy in the region. Last year, some 400 people attended the event.
Selected to present the keynote address is
Sid Espinosa, director of corporate citizenship for Microsoft Corporation in Silicon Valley. Espinosa is the former mayor of Palo Alto, notably the first Hispanic to be elected to public office in that city's history and one of the city's youngest mayors. (Read a February 2013
interview with Espinosa that appeared in the
Mercury News.)
The deadline for award nominations is Thursday, August 15, 2013. Categories include Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist (small, medium and large companies), Outstanding Philanthropist, Outstanding Foundation or Community Grant Maker, Outstanding Collaborative Project, Volunteer of the Year, Next Generation Philanthropist (new) and Lifetime Achievement. A prestigious panel, representing all sectors of the community and government, has been formed to select the individuals and organizations to be honored.
