Are you responsible for planning chapter meetings?
Planning an enjoyable and productive chapter meeting is important. 
 
Meeting tips
  1. Be sure to greet everyone - make them feel welcome
  2. Have IIE promotional materials and membership applications available. You    can download them in the Promotional Material Center 
  3. Free food is always good (snacks/beverages)
  4. Ask people to sign in(name, address, class year, e-mail address)
  5. Have a stated purpose or agenda and stick to it
  6. Stay positive- don't shout down initial  proposals
  7. Close with announcing the date/time for the next meeting
  8. Thank everyone for participation when meeting ends
  9. Recognize those who helped make the meeting successful
  10. Follow through on any ideas or decisions 
Meeting ideas
  1. Contact your local IIE professional chapter for a speaker (contact information can be requested from IIE Headquarters)
  2. Plan a joint event with your local professional IIE chapter
  3. Plan facility tours in your local area
  4. Make plans for a fall picnic or Bar-B-Q  
  5. Discuss sending a delegation to the 2016 IIE Annual conference. Student volunteers receive $100 discount to conference.  First come first serve basis - if interested, contact Bill Gibbs for more information
  6. Use Certification of Appreciation to plan a small ceremony for outgoing officers. 
  7. Plan a membership recruitment activity (ideas will be in future issue of The Chapter Link). 
  8. Discuss and plan going to local high schools to talk about Industrial Engineering as a profession, hold event for high school seniors or host "IE for a Day" event for a local high school student. 
  9. Meeting to discuss "sponsor" possibilities and how to secure sponsorships.
  10.  Workshop Meeting(resume writing/mock interviews)
