Collaborative Conversation
By Barry Logan, ICIS Executive Director
In order for ICIS to remain highly relevant, it is imperative to keep a finger on the pulse by soliciting member feedback via constructive conversations from a myriad of interested stakeholders.

Making BIG Data Music
Are you attending the Spring URISA BC conference on May 23rd? If so, make sure you don't miss ICIS' presentation: Making BIG Data Music.

ICIS is providing one answer to one of the BIG questions associated with BIG Data: Where does BIG Data come from? Maybe a metaphorical answer can illustrate the question.

Call for Photos
Calling all ICIS members!

ICIS is in the process of collecting new photos for inclusion on the ICIS Website, and we need your help!.
It seems only fitting to demonstrate how awesome our members are, and what better way than through photos?

We would love to include your photos on our website and showcase the beauty of British Columbia. Whether you have a great scenic shot or something that describes the 'character' of your organization, we want to see it!

Please email all submissions to Michelle Mitchell for consideration. Successful submissions will be used for marketing purposes, with the credit going to the organization.

ICIS Presents at the FME World Tour
By Michelle Mitchell, ICIS Communications Coordinator
On April 4, Barry Logan, Steve Mark, and Paul van Nieuwkuyk presented DGeoShare... Unchained at the FME World Tour, hosted by Safe Software. The day was filled with tips and best practices, information on the new FME 2013 release, and information on how other organizations have used FME to navigate data challenges.
