Food & Water Security in Tillaberi gets a boost from Vibrant Village and The International Foundation

Vibrant Village Foundation  is making possible a new women's garden cooperative in the Tillaberi community of Tagantassou: complete with drip irrigation and intensive training in planting techniques, crop diversification, organic pest control, and making the most out of cash crops.

The International Foundation is supporting efforts to
increase School Market Garden production to match
skyrocketing school attendance with the expansion
of two school gardens and installation of one well in two Tillaberi communities. We gratefully extend our thanks on behalf of the nomadic families who will be empowered by this support!

Welcome  to Bonnie Welch, our new
Director of Individual Giving

Bonnie had a long and successful career in healthcare management but after moving to Nigeria in 1993 she was inspired to apply her leadership, fundraising and organizational skills to assist humanitarian organizations. For 14+ years Bonnie lived overseas where she worked with various aid agencies, as President of American Women's Association and founder of Small World. Since repatriating to the US, Bonnie has worked for a variety of non-profits for homelessness, environmental causes and notably CARE, Inc. as a major gift officer. We're truly fortunate to benefit from her leadership as we enter an exciting new phase of RAIN's history.

Back to School Campaign

In Niger, 90% of the girls do not attend school. This is your chance to Turn The Tide in the life of young women by supporting our most effective change makers in the ground: Mentors. Mentors actively address obstacles keeping a girl from school - case by case, they engage with families as a trusted neighbor, forming strong bonds with the girls they mentor.
