Greetings!

Running a Kickstarter campaign when your peer group is over 50 comes with challenges.

What is Kickstarter you ask? It is a platform that hosts crowdfunded projects. So far 5.1 million people have pledged $863 million, funding 51,000 creative projects. Here's the pitch for a cool project that my wife and her friend are running.

Two Calgary women have launched a new product called a Dress.Up to cover fitness bracelets in designer prints. This makes them more fashionable and comfortable to wear.

I am asking you to support this project. I've put up a couple of awesome offers at 2 different pledge levels (a newsletter deal and some social media training) .

Julia and Pat would be grateful for any support and you'll get some good karma and experience with crowdfunding.

Obama's JOBS act (Jumpstart Our Business Startups) promised easier access to capital for small business using crowdfunding but regulatory friction has created delays. SEC finally does its job on crowdfunding. Crowdfunding won't be replacing the capital markets just yet. However there is another fascinating pool of investors and startups on AngelList which some of you may be eligible to join. I'll talk about one project that caught my eye in my next email.
