My personal brand is "The Big Picture Guy" which means that I struggle with things like clarity, focus, consistency, resonance and alignment.  I first met with Eric during the 2011 Hard Assets Conference in San Francisco where I obviously wasn't completely focussed on hard assets. Mostly, but not completely.

I'm a hydrogeologist so I took a stab at deconstructing an alarmist article with the sexy headline  Oilsands tailings leaking into groundwater, Joe Oliver told in memo. My boring post was Oil Sands Tailings in the News. 
 
I'll be speaking in sunny Indian Wells this weekend at the California Resource Investment Conference. You would have trouble finding a worse index to follow than the TSX Venture index over the last year. However there's always a bull market in something and there are a few bright spots that I'll be speaking about.
