The Best Super Bowl Commercial Ever
One of the most memorable Super Bowl commercials was aired in the 4th quarter of the 2013 game when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31. Sponsored by Dodge Ram Trucks, it was a simple slideshow of photographs accompanied by a stirring voice-over by the late Paul Harvey. The product being advertised was never shown. A few days after the game, Dodge donated a million dollars to the Future Farmers of America (FFA). Remember it? Check it out HERE.
BTW - From 2006 through 2015, the Super Bowl game has generated $2.38 billion of network advertising sales from more than 130 marketers. The average rate for a 30-second advertisement in the Super Bowl game has increased by 76% during the past decade and reached $4.4 million in 2015. If you have a favorite Super Bowl ad, let us know. |

Why Are Men Going To Bed at Night With So Much Energy?
Below is brief video excerpt from a sermon by Matt Chandler, lead pastor of The Village Church near Dallas. In it Matt asks why are so many men going to bed at night with so much energy still churning in them? He contends that the reality of life is that God intends us to be wrung out at night from the kingdom work, especially in leading and discipling our wives and children. God has designed you and me to make war against sin and evil yet so often we're punting on that God-assigned role. For Matt, few things are more dangerous and disappointing than a bored man with too much time and energy on his hands. Check out his bold challenge - HERE

WACMM Recommends 33: The Series on Authentic Manhood

WACMM receives a steady stream of questions from pastors, church staff and men's leaders from around the region and across the country about how to start a ministry to men or how to take an existing one to the next level. While there is an abundance of excellent resources out there, the one teaching resource we most recommend is 33: The Series. 33 is a six-volume, thirty-six session, gospel-centered video series that takes you on a powerful, engaging journey toward Authentic Manhood, which is only found in Jesus Christ. It includes insightful teaching, encouraging testimonies, expert interviews, table talk to unpack each session's content and an opportunity to build an action plan to pursue godly manhood. As a man experiences the 33 Series, he will find himself building a vision for and commitment to Authentic Manhood grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ and modeled by Him in His 33 years on earth. Former Jock-Turned Pastor Works To Bring Us Together

Leonce Crump is a former All-American wrestler and defensive end for the Oklahoma Sooners. He went on to play for the New Orleans Saints. For the last nine years he's been in full-time ordained ministry as founder and lead pastor of the multi-ethnic Renovation Church in the urban core of Atlanta. His new ground-breaking book, "Renovate: Changing Who You Are by Loving Where You Are", is being released later this month. Léonce takes us on a journey to understand what he calls "the ministry of presence" which he himself learned the hard way after planting a Renovation Church in one of the most violent areas of Atlanta. Léonce and his family found that, before we can preach or reach others, we must first know the story of a place and its people - especially since skin color, cultural norms, and economic status often isolate us more than bringing us together. His is a clarion call to the important work of shaping the culture through gospel proclamation and gospel living. Of Renovation Church, Leonce says, "On any given weekend, we're about 55 percent Anglo, about 35-40 percent African American and 10-15 percent everything else, that is mixed-race, Filipino, Chinese, Indian, Hispanic, really all across the board. So we really do have a beautiful representation of God's creative genius in our congregation." For a free advance reading copy of Leonce's upcoming book, email us with your mailing address - email us

Eight Reasons to Start Leading Family Worship
The worthiness of God to receive your family's worship each day is reason enough to start practicing family worship today. But why do we struggle? Despite the desire that many men have to begin family worship, some simply lack the resolve.
In his "Thoughts on Family Worship", J. W. Alexander answers eight common objections to starting family worship, but then says that a "single reason operates with more force than all the others put together." It is when a man says-most likely only to himself - "The truth is, I am ashamed to begin." This happens when a man awakens to his spiritual responsibilities in the home and because he realizes he has failed to lead family worship for so long he feels embarrassed to begin now. Read More
NOTE: For an excellent resource on how to lead worship, check out Donald S. Whitney's new book Family Worship

WACMM Is Marking 17 Years of Ministry to Men

Seventeen years ago this month a small group of men from different backgrounds and churches met in a tire store in Merrifield VA. They talked and dreamed about "doing together what they could not do alone' in helping local churches to minister to men. Soon they became a Band of Brothers. That February evening WACMM was born and in Lord's power and provision it has been growing ever since to serve the needs of pastors, church staff, men's leaders and men around the mid-Atlantic region and across the country. WACMM has held over 160 different events drawing some 60,000 men from across the region and country. WACMM-ites have spoken at hundreds of churches and men's events, conducted training on various manhood topics and provided consulting services to all kinds of churches on how to start and how to grow ministries to men. WACMM has earned a reputation of putting together some of the largest, most innovative, gospel-centered men's events in the nation. It has become of one the leading men's organizations taking on some of the most controversial marriage, family and gender-related issues in the culture and in the church. We believe that because men are biblically foundational, as go the men, so go the marriages, the families, the churches, the communities and the culture. When men are isolated, passive and adrift, everyone and everything is in big trouble, which is what we see across the board today. When men are "gospel-ed" and live in light of its power, truth, grace and freedom, women flourish, marriages are strong, children are healthy, churches prosper and society is transformed. Check out the WACMM brochure HERE and if you'd like to know more about us or if you would like to throw in with our band of brothers, let us know.
