Purity in a Digital Age
by Tim Challies, pastor, author and blogger
The world is changing, and it's changing fast. Technology makes information more accessible every day. This changing digital scene brings with it new challenges to maintaining purity as a Christian-for singles, for couples, and for families as a whole, including children. Christians are called to guard their hearts, and in this session, Tim Challies recommends some tools that do just that. He also explains some ways of bringing about change within one's heart in order to fight against and repent of sin. Check out Tim's presentation HERE
"They Said What?"

"The gospel is so much more than a plan of salvation for the lost. It is the water in which the Christian swims everyday."  - TullianTchividjian

"Disciple making is not a call for others to come to us to hear the gospel but a command for us to go to others to share the gospel." - David Platt

A Warning to Men's Ministries Striving To Be Hip, Cool, and Macho Relevant To Men

"I think that the historical, cultural, and philosophical roots of moralistic therapeutic deism go way back, but I think for evangelicalism part of what it means to be an evangelical in the United States since WWII is not to be a fundamentalist. Yet, part of one's identity in not being a fundamentalist is, you're always pushing towards the 'We're not rigid. We're not doctrinaire. We're not closed minded.' Which is good, but every good thing can be pushed in a problematic direction".

"In evangelicalism this has been pushed too far... in the direction of 'We can be cool Christians and participate in the culture, just like everybody else, and it's just fine.' The 'make Jesus cool kind of thing'... craving the affection of the American public. It's almost a pathetic impulse to be respectable and to be relevant."

- Christian Smith
What We All Can Learn From Fallen Pastors
Garrett Kell, Senior Pastor of Del Ray Baptist Church in Alexandria VA, shares his thoughts about a survey conducted by the late Dr, Howard Hendricks of 246 men in full-time ministry who experienced moral failure. Their failures had four common characteristics. Garrett cites lessons from their experiences that are relevant to all of our battles with sin. READ MORE

Tony Evans, Tony Perkins Headline November 7
Mark your calendar for WACMM's Mid-Atlantic Men's Fall Conference Saturday November 7 at McLean Bible Church. The region's premiere ministry to men has put together an amazing speaker line-Up, the region's best men's praise and worship band, and a day filled with learning, camaraderie and networking. Don't miss the men's event of 2015!

A Word From Conference Keynote Speaker Dr. Tony Evans:

"Men, I truly believe we are at a critical crossroad in a rapidly decaying culture where we have to make a decision for life or death, blessings or curses for our personal lives and our families. We can no longer sail with the world's wind and expect a better life and promising future for our children, ourselves and communities. For an aircraft to increase in altitude, it must fly against the wind".

"As Christian men, we must fly against personal, tumultuous world-winds to propel our families and communities to higher ground in God's Kingdom. Only kingdom men can accomplish the impossible in their personal and collective worlds. These are ordinary men through whom God will do the extraordinary because they choose to "seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness."

David Platt, IMB President and Author, to Speak

What Does the Horse in Job 39:19-25 Look Like...

This Saturday June 6 is the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown also known as the "Test of the Champion". American Pharoah will attempt to be the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978. My memory darts back to the1973 Belmont when Secretariat, called "Big Red", not only clinched the Triple Crown but demolished the track record and conquered the field by 31 lengths. Below are two video clips. First is the actual race as it was called by Chick Anderson who spoke of the great Secretariat as "moving like a tremendous machine" The second is the final scene of the movie Secretariat, written by Christian playwright and film producer Randall Wallace. This highly recommended movie features Scripture from Job 39:19-25 and the jubilant song "Oh, Happy Day" such that even a horse reminds us we were made for something more:
