The Rest of the Story Video
Laura Hillenbrand's bestseller
Unbroken is a reader's classic. In its film adaptation, audiences are told it's a "true story", i. e. true as far as it goes. Director Angelina Jolie's movie version presents at best an incomplete story of WWII hero Louie Zamperini. Jolie short shrifts Louie's battle after the war's end with PTSD, alcoholism, a troubled marriage, and then importantly his accepting Christ at a Billy Graham crusade in 1949 and his amazing trip to Japan the following year to forgive his POW camp torturers.
To get the rest of the Louie Zamperini story, check out this brand new video documentary Captured By Grace just released by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. CLICK HERE |
Mitsuo Fuchida Led Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor but Later Was Led to Christ Some evangelicals have followed Christ for as long as they can remember. Others, through God's grace, make U-turns, like Louie Zamperini. This stunning story is about how Mitsuo Fuchida, the flight commander who led the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor 73 years ago, came to Christ,

What is the Gospel?
"The gospel is not merely the diving board off of which we jump into the pool of Christianity, it's also the pool itself." - J.D. Greear |

Two Historic Gatherings of Evangelical Men in 2014
October and December marked two incredibly important gatherings of pastors and church leaders from across America to take on some of the most crucial yet long ignored matters in evangelicalism: homosexuality, marriage, gender, racism and racial reconciliation. The Gospel, Homosexuality and the Future of Marriage Conference was sponsored by the Ethics and Religious Ethics Commission (ERLC) and held in Nashville on October 27-29. Videos of the crucial presentations are HERE. The other gathering took place December 17 at the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis TN. Sponsored by the Gospel Coalition, LifeWay and Kainos, "A Time To Speak" brought together key evangelical, gospel-centric pastors to discuss the tough, difficult issues of race, racism, justice and reconciliation. Check out the candid, hard conversations that took place. For the video link CLICK HERE

Ten Recommended Books for Men From 2014
Of the 350,000 or so books were published in 2014, several captured our minds and hearts as particularly good reads for Christian men. The list is not the typical tips, techniques and moral bromides genre (work harder, do better, find yourself, fix yourself (and others), save yourself (and others) so popular in our therapeutic culture. These substantive books below clearly communicate the gospel as of "first importance" and how we are to live in the light of its power, grace and freedom. Check them out:

Happy New Year!
May the Lord bless you and empower you in life and ministry in 2015! This year marks WACMM's 16th year of ministry to men in the mid-Atlantic region and to more and more men around America. From the beginning we've firmly held that men are foundational and as go the men so go the marriages, the families, the churches, the communities and the culture. We are men at war against the flesh, the world and Satan. We are fighting in the power of the Holy Spirit to set people free through the life-giving gospel and Jesus' promise that the gates of hell shall not prevail against his Church!
